Holocene ends desc ibed abo e. The

Hal o he pos -1840 wa ming
(app oxima ely 0.75°C), ook place du ing
he 80 yea s om 1840 o 1920, du ing
which ime a mosphe ic CO2 and CH4
inc eased by only 14 and 25% (20 ppm
and 200 ppb ), espec i ely. The cu en
bes es ima es o clima e sensi i i y o ace
gases sugges ha ace gases alone may be
able o explain only 0.1-0.4°C o he p e-
1920 wa ming. The e o e, he in luence
o o he clima e o cing mechanisms mus
