and p epa e wi h his own hands, in so bad a clima e, especially as
so many o he mammals a e o conside able size. Collec ions o
mice a e much mo e easily made han o dogs, pecca ies, coa i
mondis, monkeys, &c. ; and he long se ies o he di e en species
he e enume a ed speaks olumes o M . Robe 's wo king
quali ies.
The specimens a e all p epa ed in mode n ashion, wi h lesh
measu emen s and sepa a e skulls, and he e a e besides a numbe
o skele ons, so ha , bea ing in mind he inaccessibili y o he
locali y, he collec ion may be looked upon as one o he mos
aluable ha he Na ional collec ion has ecei ed o many yea s.
