2. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Concep o Bu nou
The concep o occupa ional bu nou was i s in oduced in

o in e pe sonal s esso s a wo k, pa icula ly in ca e-
o ien ed p o essions (heal hca e, social wo k, eaching)
(F eudenbe ge , 1975).
Maslach la e elabo a ed he heo y, de ining bu nou as a
synd ome comp ising h ee key componen s: emo ional
exhaus ion, depe sonaliza ion, and educed pe sonal
accomplishmen . Emo ional exhaus ion a ises om a ec i e

nega i i y, o de achmen owa d pa ien s/s uden s; educed
pe sonal accomplishmen in ol es sel -doub and pe cei ed
ine ec i eness a wo k (Maslach & Lei e , 2016).
F eudenbe ge classi ied bu nou symp oms in o h ee
ca ego ies: physical, psychological, and beha io al
ca ego ies, o en p esen ing as de ici s: “lack o ene gy,
in e es , en husiasm, mo i a ion, sa is ac ion, passion, ideas,
concen a ion, sel -con idence, and humo ” (Fon es, 2020).
The Wo ld Heal h O ganiza ion (WHO) included bu nou in
ICD-11 as an occupa ional phenomenon a he han a medical
