When analyzing he p opo ion o he numbe o
smallandmedium-sizeden e p isesin he o alnumbe
o economicen i iesi mus bemadeclea ha i s ooda
asimila le elinselec edcoun ieso heEu opeanUnion
( heyaccoun ed o mo e han99.5%o allcompaniesin
allanalyzedeconomies),so hein o ma ionwasno he
subjec o deepe inqui y.Howe e ,p esen a iono da a
conce ningpa icipa iono peopleemployedin heSME
sec o in ela ion o he o al numbe o employees in
en e p isesandsha ein headded alueo he a ious
