1. Managemen ’s p esen a ion
This epo p o ides some basic in o ma ion abou he Ins i u e o Indus ial and
Con ol Enginee ing (IOC) and a b ie summa y o he ac i i y pe o med du ing he
yea 2015. I hope his in o ma ion is o in e es o hose who a e amilia wi h he
Ins i u e and i s backg ound as well as o anyone who wishes o ind ou mo e abou
he IOC by eading his epo .
The yea 2015 did no b ing he changes and unce ain ies o p e ious yea s. As
expec ed, he e we e no signi ican changes in he economic si ua ion, he budge o
he IOC om UPC was sligh ly inc emen ed, and he Ins i u e go an addi ional income
om he suppo ed ac i i ies in he Fundació Poli ècnica de Ca alunya, which is
expec ed o be mo e signi ican in he nex yea s.
Du ing 2015 we also go use o he cen aliza ion o he adminis a i e se ices
p oduced in 2014, which go oge he he adminis a i e s a o se e al depa men s
and esea ch ins i u es in he ield o enginee ing in he Sou h Campus o UPC in
Ba celona. This cen aliza ion was a los in se e al aspec s o he IOC, bu we had o
assume i and go use o wo k wi hou ou own adminis a i e s a inside he Ins i u e.
The scien i ic p oduc ion o IOC -acco ding o he UPC c i e ia- has a small inc emen
espec o he p e ious yea , and, keeping aside he excep ional good p oduc ion in
2013, i is in he ange o he las six yea s. On he o he side, he income ob ained
h ough compe i i e p ojec s and ag eemen s wi h companies has dec eased in 2015,
and i eached he lowes alue in he las i e yea s; in some sense, i was expec ed
due o he c isis o he p e ious yea s, bu ne e heless his is a poin o ca e on and
ha mus be s eng hened.
The cons uc ions o new buildings a he new campus o UPC a he o he ex eme o
A . Diagonal ad anced du ing 2015, and se e al esea ch g oups should mo e he e
in 2016. Consequen ly, we expec o ha e he chance o ge ing mo e space inside he
Escola Tècnica Supe io d’Enginye ia Indus ial de Ba celona. A he Ins i u e we ha e
being e y igh o many yea s, bu I hink his can change in a close u u e.

MANAGEMENT OF THE RELATIONSHIPS AMONG PROVIDERS, BUSINESSES, OPERATORS AND END
