INTRODUCTION
The echnological ad ances o Indus y 4.0 ha e b ough
new pa adigms o companies and public ins i u ions whe e
p oduc s and se ices ha e begun o mo e in a manne aligned
wi h sus ainabili y. Fo Pe ei a & Simone o (2018), um o he
concep s o indus y 4.0 is he social esponsibili y o he
company. Aligning wi h his pa adigm, acco ding o And ade
e al (2018), " he e m indus y 4.0 e e s o he union o a se o
echnologies ha build a i ual en i onmen in eg a ed in o a
physical en i onmen o gi e mo e agili y o decision making".
The IFRO is a B azilian Public Ins i u ion o echnical and
echnologis educa ion ocused on eaching, esea ch, and
ex ension and which is pa o he Fede al Educa ion Ne wo k
o B azil. I is a new 12-yea -old ins i u ion ha has unde gone
se e al in e nal changes, such as digi izing i s p ocesses and
adop ing adminis a i e sys ems, suppo o managemen , and
decision-making. In he con ex o his echnological e olu ion
is he adop ion o he Elec onic In o ma ion Sys em - SEI o he
managemen o he adminis a i e p ocesses o he ins i u ion.
The SEI was de eloped by he Regional Elec o al Cou o he
4 h Region (TRF4) o p omo e adminis a i e e iciency h ough
he managemen o elec onic documen s. In 2017, IFRO,
h ough O dinance No. 1,420 o July 31, 2017, decided o
es ablish he SEI as he o icial sys em o managemen o
elec onic p ocesses and documen s.
The esea ch aimed o know he sa is ac ion and o ms o
in e ac ion o IFRO employees wi h he SEI, in addi ion o
esponding o p e-es ablished hypo heses h ough he
applica ion o he Technological Accep ance Model (TAM).
Speci ically, he esea ch seeks o know he pe cep ion o SEI
use s ega ding he ease o use o he sys em and i s use ulness
in ins i u ional ac i i ies, besides knowing o he a iables ha
may ha e a posi i e o nega i e impac on he use o he Sei in
he ins i u ion.

The SEI has been used by IFRO e ec i ely since 2017,
howe e , despi e being in use o i e yea s, he e has been no
esea ch ha seeks o know he o e all sa is ac ion o use s o
he sys em and how hey accep he echnology implemen ed.
Taking no e o his eali y can con ibu e o he decisions o
manage s ega ding he imp o emen o he sys em in he
sea ch o imp o emen s in adminis a i e p ocedu es in he
ins i u ion.
Technology accep ance models
When alking abou in o ma ion sys ems and echnological
solu ions, i is impo an o highligh he discussions and s udies
on use s' accep ance o ejec ion o hese ools and which
a iables in e e e wi h hese esul s. Acco ding o Da is e al
(1989), " esea che s need o be e unde s and he easons ha
make people esis he use o compu e s o design p ac ical
me hods o e alua e sys ems and imp o e use accep ance."
Da is e al (1989) p oposed he echnology accep ance model
(TAM). The objec i e o his model is o e alua e he accep ance
o echnology h ough wo pilla s: pe cei ed u ili y and
pe cei ed ease o use. This model was adap ed om he
Ra ional Ac ion Theo y (ART). Pe ei a & Simone o (2018)
de ines pe cei ed u ili y is he use 's subjec i e p obabili y ha
using he sys em will inc ease hei wo k pe o mance wi hin
an o ganiza ion. Pe cei ed ease e e s o he deg ee o which he

Mo eo e , o Sil a & Dias (2007) he TAM model s ill
e alua es he dimensions o a i ude and beha io al in en ion,
bo h o which a e in luenced by bo h pe cei ed ease and
pe cei ed use ulness. The a i ude indica es how he use
beha es and he mo i a ion o use he sys em. Beha io al in en
shows he in en ion o use he sys em in he u u e, which will
de e mine he ac ual use o he sys em.
Fo Sil a e al (2008) he TAM model, because i has
beha io al cha ac e is ics, can only e alua e issues di ec ly
ela ed o he use and hei pe cep ions abou he use o he
sys em and, he e o e, he cons uc ions should be de eloped o
cap u e pe sonal opinions, allowing he pe cep ion o he
easons o non-accep ance o co ec he implemen a ion

Venka esh & Bala (2008) p oposed a model adap ed o he
ini ial models and Da is e al (1989) and Venka esh & Da is

he cons uc ion o pe cei ed ease. Figu e 3 shows he model
p oposed by he au ho s known as TAM 3.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The esea ch was suppo ed by an explo a o y quan i a i e
s udy wi h he applica ion o a ques ionnai e o he employees
o all IFRO uni s, o unde s and how hey in e ac and accep
he use o he SEI.

The concep ual model in Figu e 4 shows he a ious
ela ionships be ween cons uc s and aims o analyze whe he
he e a e posi i e ela ionships be ween hem.
Fo da a collec ion, a closed ques ionnai e was used based
on ques ionnai es o simila in es iga ions a ailable in he
li e a u e e iew ha also used he Technology Accep ance
Model (TAM) as in Da Sil a & Gonçal es (2021), Bobsin (2007)
and Hedle e al (2016). Responses we e collec ed h ough
Google Fo ms. Fo he o mula ion o he ques ionnai e, we
op ed o he Like scale om 1 o 5 poin s.
RESULTS
A e pe o ming a p e- es o he ques ionnai e ha
demons a es o is e ec i e, i was passed o he gene al
applica ion.
Sample cha ac e iza ion
The ques ionnai e was applied be ween Ap il 6 and 29, 2022
and 205 IFRO employees a ended.
The sample consis ed o 62.2% o adminis a i e echnicians
and 37.8% o eache s. The age g oup showed ha 43.9% a e
be ween 33 and 40 yea s old, 30.5% a e o e 40 yea s old, 23.2%
a e be ween 26 and 32 yea s old and only 2.4% a e be ween 18
and 25 yea s old.
The esul s showed ha 46.3% wo ked a he ins i u ion
be ween 6 and 9 yea s, 27.4% o mo e han 10 yea s, 22.6%
be ween 2 and 5 yea s, and only 3.7% epo ed wo king less
han 2 yea s. Rega ding academic quali ica ions, 41.5% epo ed
ha ing a deg ee o specializa ion, 37.2% epo ed ha ing a
mas e 's deg ee, 9.8% epo ed ha ing a doc o a e, 9.1% had a
deg ee (bachelo 's deg ee) and only 2.4% had only he
in e media e le el.
Rega ding he use o sei, 65.9% epo ed using sei e e y day,
19.5% use i be ween 2 and 3 imes a week, 11% use i a leas
once a week and only 3.7% use i a leas once a mon h.
Reliabili y and ac o analysis
Reliabili y analysis is based on he eliabili y check o he
ques ionnai e applied h ough s a is ical analyses. The da a
collec ed h ough Google Fo ms we e p ocessed using he SPSS
so wa e o pe o m s a is ical analysis.
The eliabili y o he a ious cons uc s ha a e pa o he
da a collec ion ins umen can be assessed using C onbach’s
Alpha Coe icien . Alpha is a coe icien ha uses alues
be ween 0 and 1. The close o 1, he highe he eliabili y o he
ins umen analyzed (Sole Cá denas & Sole Pons, 2012). Alpha
eliabili y scale pa ame e s a y as ollows: 0 o 0.21 – small
consis ency; 0.21 o 0.40 – easonable consis ency; 0.41 o 0.60 –
mode a e consis ency; 0.61 o 0.80 – subs an ial consis ency; 0.81
o 1.0 – calmes pe ec consis ency.

The esul ob ained h ough he KMO es o all a iables o

a iables o be conside ed adequa e o he s udy. The alue
measu ed h ough he SPSS so wa e assay was 0.936, which
indica es ha he sample selec ed o he s udy is adequa e.

CONCLUSIONS
The sample showed ha he majo i y o esponden s
occupy he posi ion o Adminis a i e Technician and use he
SEI daily. I is also obse ed ha 70.7% o he esponden s ha e
6 yea s o mo e o wo k in he ins i u ion. The e o e, hey a e
people who pa icipa ed in he implemen a ion o SEI and he
ansi ion om physical p ocesses o digi ized p ocesses.
Ano he ele an ac is ha 88.5% o esponden s ha e
highe academic quali ica ions han g adua es. In o he wo ds,
hey’ e people wi h academic ins uc ion in e ms o
specializa ion, mas e ’s, and doc o a e.
Resea ch has also shown ha SEI is no commonly used on
mobile de ices and ha mos esponden s conside i
impo an in hei wo k en i onmen and belie e ha he
sys em imp o es he execu ion o hei ac i i ies. I is wo h
men ioning ha acco ding o Teixei a e al. (2020) "nowadays,
people communica e, buy, o ganize, play, wo k, among o he
possibili ies, mainly using mobile de ices such as sma phones
and able s".
