ins i u ions o inc ease and dissemina e excellence in

impac on such s a egic e olu ion a e he new policies on
Open Access, Na ional Resea ch Assessmen and Resea ch
Funding. I is indeed om 2003 onwa ds ha he inc ease
in he numbe o eposi o ies becomes appa en , oge he

om 2010 on when new policies s a ed o be implemen ed
which a ec ed he adop ion o CRIS sys ems: %83 o he

Today we see CRISs ac ing as eposi o ies, eposi o ies wi h
ex ended da a models, a wide ange o in e ope abili y
ea u es be ween co-exis ing CRISs and eposi o ies and
e en a new species in he ecosys em ha claims o be bo h
a eposi o y and a CRIS.
The scope o his EUNIS and eu oCRIS join ini ia i e, he
CRIS/IR su ey, was o collec in o ma ion on CRIS and
IR echnological solu ions ha suppo Resea ch and
o analyse hei links o o he sys ems used a Highe
Educa ion Ins i u ions: how hey in e ope a e, which da a
and me ada a a e made a ailable and how hese a e being
used.
The CRIS/IR su ey, which was launched in Ap il 2015, was
based on a p e ious ini ia i e o collec in o ma ion on he
CRIS and IR in as uc u e a ailable in Po ugal. The su ey
was dis ibu ed by EUNIS and eu oCRIS ia a numbe o
na ional and in e na ional mailing lis s and was open un il
mid-Sep embe 2015.
The e was wide pa icipa ion om he communi y, and we
collec ed 84 ull esponses om 20 di e en coun ies.
The wo main ques ions he Su ey ied o answe we e:

ex o publica ions (%96) and disse a ions and hesis
(%86). Among he a ailable eposi o y solu ions, DSpace is
he mos equen ly adop ed one, being used in %56 o he
cases.

he da a. CRISs implemen ed a Eu opean ins i u ions a e
e y o en based on he CERIF da a model (CERIF: Common
Eu opean Resea ch In o ma ion Fo ma ), meaning hei da a
model a chi ec u e is bo h s anda d and in e ope able. CERIF
is he s anda d ecommended by he Eu opean Commission
o all EU Membe S a es and i is suppo ed, main ained and
p omo ed by eu oCRIS.

SURVEY STRUCTURE

he analyzed a eas. The key ques ions o be answe ed o

could be le blank whe e no applicable.
In o de o collec as wide an insigh as possible, he su ey
