Úvodník Kulaté čtyřicáté číslo Slova asmyslu, kterým právě listujete, přináší soubor tematicky pestrých článků adalších příspěvků. Hned čtyři studie ijedna zrecenzí jsou věnovány vztahům česky psaných literárních, odborných či publicistických textů kjejich jinojazyčným zdrojům, předobrazům aprotějškům, resp.širší mezikulturní výměně nejen ve středoevropském prostoru. Zkrátka ale nepřicházejí ani témata teoretická, ať už zoblasti sémiotiky či inspirovaná Deleuzovou teorií opakování. Ve Studiích askicách nejprve Pavel Šidák zkoumá Jungmannovu Slovesnost jako problém genologický. Vnitřní strukturaci Jungmannova systému sleduje vkontextu dobových geneologických teorií zejména německé provenience asoustředí se mimo jiné na dynamiku, vjejímž rámci lze vtéto soustavě sledovat tendence klasicistické aromantické. Jiří Hrabal se ve své studii zaměřuje na česká převyprávění Defoeova Robinsona Crusoe. Poukazuje na skutečnost, že robinsonovský příběh byl nejen včeských zemích, ale ivněmeckojazyčném prostoru avsamotném anglosaském světě prakticky od počátku znám právě prostřednictvím převyprávění, asoustředí se na blízký vztah těchto převyprávění kdobové cestopisné literatuře. Deník staročeské strany Politik, konkrétně jeho stránky věnované umělecké kritice, analyzuje vněkolika sondách Ladislav Futtera. Zaměřil se na divadelněkritickou činnost Viktora Gutha (recenzent Politik vletech 1868–1895) ana Bozděchovu obsáhlou reflexi díla Franze Grillparzera zroku 1873 asleduje, zda ajak deník fungoval jako mediátor mezi českou aněmeckou kulturou. Vmateriálově obsáhlé studii se Eva Skříčková zabývá česko-italskými vztahy vmeziválečném období, konkrétně aktivitami na italské straně. Registruje literární překlady, přednášky, odborné studie iorganizační činnost apodává obraz relativně bohaté kulturní výměny, stále silněji zabarvené divergentní politikou meziválečného Československa amussoliniovské Itálie. Sémiotika arétorika významného amerického teoretika Kennetha Burka se staly předmětem pojednání Martina Švantnera aMarianny Abrahamyan. Konkrétně se zaměřili na jeho pojetí symbolu, které srovnávají skoncepcemi Umberta Eca, Jurije Lotmana, Ernsta Cassirera aCharlese Sanderse Peirce. Magdaléna Smějsíková pak heuristicky důkladně zpracovala doslovy kpětadvaceti svazkům Spisů Karla Čapka (1980–1995). Využívá přitom teorii paratextu Gérarda Genetta asoustředí se na rétoriku doslovů jakožto textů sintencí ovlivnit, jak budou jednotlivé Čapkovy texty icelek jeho díla čteny. OPEN ACCESS 8 SLOVO A SMYSL 40 Retrospektiva tentokrát úzce navazuje na číslo 37, vněmž jsme se soustředili na fond německého filozofa aesejisty Theodora Lessinga vPamátníku národního písemnictví avpřekladu jsme publikovali několik ukázek zjeho korespondence sAnnou Pammrovou. Vtomto čísle vybíráme neméně zajímavou korespondenční výměnu mezi Lessingem aDemlem. Edici připravily Daniela Iwashita aŠárka Kořínková, dopisy přeložil opět Lukáš Motyčka. Daniela Iwashita je také autorkou zasvěceného úvodu. VKritických rozhledech píše Alena Sarkissian opublikaci Daniely Čadkové Oslněni hellénským sluncem. Recepce antiky včeské literatuře vletech 1884–1914, Jan Wiendl pojednal oknize Vojtěcha Klimta Poddat se nemíním. Příběh knihtiskařů Krylových, obsáhlému kompendiu The Routledge Handbook of Translation, Feminism and Gender (eds. Luise von Flotow aHala Kamal) věnuje pozornost Eva Kalivodová aknihu Kláry Soukupové Vyprávět sám sebe. Teorie autobiografie komentuje Jan Musil. Pro rubriku Překlad jsme zvolili studii polského literárního vědce Jana Potkańského Nejnovější literatura. Pokus oserializaci, vníž se autor svyužitím myšlenek zDeleuzovy Diference aopakování pokouší najít nový, adekvátnější pohled na vývojové rytmy současné literatury: ústřední „sérii“ podle něj překvapivě představuje nejdůležitější literární cena Nike. Do literárního kontextu Polska posledních třiceti let zasadila Potkańského práci ve svém úvodu Hana Blažková, která studii spolu sJustynou Sumou také přeložila. Red. OPEN ACCESS Editorial The 40th issue, which you are browsing at the moment, presents avaried collection of articles and other contributions. No fewer than four studies and one review are dedicated to the relationship between Czech-language literature (as well as scholarly and journalistic texts) and their sources, models, and counterparts in other languages, and to broader intercultural exchange in the Central European region and beyond. However, considerable attention is also given to issues of literary theory— the semiotics of Kenneth Burke, for example, and Deleuzian notion of repetition. In the Studies and Sketches section, Pavel Šidák examines Jungmann’s Slovesnost as an example of genre theory. He investigates the inner structure of Jungmann’s genre system in the context of the genre theory of its time, predominantly German, and emphasises— among other topics— the dynamic of classicist and romantic tendencies. Jiří Hrabal focuses on Czech retellings of Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, pointing to the fact that Robinson’s story was known mainly thanks to these retellings, not only in theCzech Lands but also in the German-language and Anglophone spheres. Hrabal also documents the close relationship these retellings have to the travel literature of that period. Ladislav Futtera’s article deals with the Politik, the daily German-language periodical of the National Party (also known as the staročeši), looking specifically at art criticism featured in the paper. Singling out two particular cases— the theatre reviews of Viktor Guth (who actively contributed to the Politik in 1868–1895), and an article by Emanuel Bozděch on Franz Grillparzer (1873)—, Futtera examines the position of the newspaper between Czech and German cultural spheres. In an article rich in detail, Eva Skříčková focuses on Czech-Italian interwar relations, predominantly on Italian activities. She lists translations, scholarly publications, lectures, as well as organisation efforts, progressively affected by the divergent policies of the first Czechoslovak Republic and Mussolini’s Italy. Kenneth Burke’s semiotics and rhetoric are the topic of an essay by Martin Švantner and Marianna Abrahamyan. Their preoccupation is Burke’s theory of the symbol, which they compare to the approaches of Umberto Eco, Juri Lotman, Ernst Cassirer, and Charles Sanders Peirce. In her article on the postfaces to Karel Čapek’s Writings (published 1980–1995, in 25 volumes), Magdaléna Smějsíková draws on Gérard Genette’s theory of paratexts to better understand the rhetoric of these texts, which were written with the intention of influencing the reading of particular works by Čapek and his oeuvre as awhole. OPEN ACCESS 10 SLOVO A SMYSL 40 Retrospective closely follows the 37th issue of Slovo asmysl, in which we worked with the Theodor Lessing Collection at the Museum of Czech Literature to publish correspondence between Lessing (German philosopher and essayist) and Anna Pammrová. For this issue, we are featuring the equally interesting correspondence of Lessing and Jakub Deml. Daniela Iwashita and Šárka Kořínková prepared the letters for publication, once again in the translation of Lukáš Motyčka. Daniela Iwashita is also the author of the introductory essay. In Critical Views, Alena Sarkissian reviews Daniela Čadková’s book Oslněni hellénským sluncem. Recepce antiky včeské literatuře vletech 1884–1914 (‘Blinded by the Hellenic sun: Reception of antiquity in Czech literature in the period 1884–1914’), Jan Wiendl writes on Poddat se nemíním. Příběh knihtiskařů Krylových (‘Iwon’t surrender: Story of the Kryl family book printers’) by Vojtěch Klimt, Eva Kalivodová reviews The Routledge Handbook of Translation, Feminism and Gender (eds. Luise von Flotow and Hala Kamal), and Jan Musil comments on Klára Soukupová’s Vyprávět sám sebe. Teorie autobiografie (‘Tell your own story: Autobiography theory’). For the Translation section we have selected the article by Polish scholar Jan Potkański ‘The Latest Literature: An Attempt at Serialisation’, in which the author— drawing on Deleuze’s Difference and Repetition— attempts to find anew, more adequate approach to historical rhythms of contemporary literature: somewhat surprisingly, he finds the principal ‘series’ in the prominent Polish literary prize Nike. In her introduction to the essay, Hana Blažková provides the reader with more details on the Polish context, and presents atranslation (trans. Blažková and Justyna Suma) of Potkański’s text. Red.
