This work was carried out between November 2018 and December 2023 at the Department
of Physical Chemistry (headed by Martin Wolf) of the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max
Planck Society located in Berlin Dahlem. It was supervised by Ralph Ernstorfer, head of
the Structural and Electronic Surface Dynamics group at the institute.
