of the research laboratory "Wastewater and Environment (LabEaUE)" at the Center for Water
Research and Technologies (CERTE), for her valuable guidance and support throughout the
elaboration of this thesis. Her great mentorship, positive outlook and encouragements inspired
me and enabled me to carry out this thesis successfully.
