The first Lithuanian “Encyclopedia of Chemistry” consists of more than 3000 articles, which describe chemical elements and their compounds, chemical substances, their properties, production and use, polymers, more important drugs and pesticides, chemical reactions, various phenomena of chemical origin, branches of chemistry, basic laws of chemistry. In addition to the systematic names of chemical compounds approved by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), the publication also includes non-systematic names. The publication is intended for English translators and teachers, soldiers and students of military training institutions, officers and sergeants of the national defence system. The dictionary is based more on the general principles of lexicography than terminology, adjectives and verbs are added. Sealed alphabetical blister. A large part of the book consists of a dictionary of entomological terms. It begins with a list of abbreviations and Latin terms and expressions. Alphabetical structure of the dictionary. The definition (often with a slightly broader explanation) and the English equivalent are provided next to the Lithuanian term. Lithuanian terms are interspersed. The glossary is followed by a diagram of dietary species of plant-eating insects and ecological groups of organisms according to their dietary nature.
