243Terminology | 2018 | 25 Seminar "Terminology for Europe" ASTA MITKEVIČIENĖ Lietuvių kalbos institutas The eTranslation TermBank project workshop “Terminology for Europe: CEF eTranslation TermBank project workshop” was held in Vienna (Austria) on 13 July 2018. The seminar was organized in conjunction with the annual International Terminology Summer School – the main and largest international school for terminologists. The last day of the Summer School was dedicated to a spoken seminar organized by the eTranslation TermBank1 partners: Tilde (Latvia, project coordinator), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), Arne Magnusson Institute for Icelandic Studies (Iceland), Estonian Language Institute (Estonia), Josef Stefan Institute (Slovenia), International Terminology Network (TemNet, Austrija), Institute of Language and Folklore (Sweden), Swedish Terminology Centre and Lithuanian Language Institute. The seminar was opened by Christian Galinskis from the International Terminology Information Centre (Infoterm) with a presentation entitled “Terminology and Intellectual Property Rights”. He was followed by Andrei Vassiayev from Tilde, who spoke about the Connecting Europe Facility and the Coordination of European Language Resources (ELRC), and Tatjana Gornostaja, who spoke about the eTranslation TermBank project. The seminar was followed by presentations with a common denominator – the national terminology scenario. Gabriele Sauberer from TermNet spoke about the terminology work in German-speaking countries – Austria and Germany. Her speech was followed by Jürgen Kotzian (ELRC), who presented the Austrian language resource portal, and Damir Čuljat (German Bundestag), who discussed terminology management in the German Bundestag. 1 The eTranslation TermBank project is co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility of the European Commission. 244 Asta Mitkevičienė | Seminar “Terminology for Europe” The Icelandic terminology work situation was presented by Gunnhildur Stefánsdóttir (Arni Magnusson Institute of Icelandic Studies, co-author of the presentation – Ágústa Þorbergsdóttir), Swedish – Simonas Dahlbergas (Institute of Language and Folklore) and Marie van Dorrestein (Swedish Institute of Standards), Danish – Lina Henriksen (University of Copenhagen, co-author – Sussi Olsen), Latvian – Māris Baltiņš (National Language Centre), Lithuanian – Asta Mitkevičienė (Institute of Lithuanian Language, co-author – Albina Auksoriūtė), Slovenian – Andražas Reparas (Jožefo Stefano institute). The presentations clearly showed the fundamental differences in terminology work between countries and communities. In the final part of the seminar, Rodolfo Maslia (European Parliament) briefly spoke about EurTerm and TermCoord terminology resources, Barbara Heinisch (University of Vienna) about terminology, research infrastructures and digital humanities, Thierry Declercq (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence) about formal relationships between terminology and lexicography, and S. Dahlberg shared his experience of collecting terminology resources from abroad. Munkhtsetseg Namsrai (Institute of Language and Literature of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences) presented the terminology work in Mongolia.
