The latter cases are often seen not as the facts of the Širvydas dialect, but as the facts of other dialects or of the literary language that began to form at that time. Is this the right approach in all cases? Another question arises: are the mixed diphthongs am, an, em, en and the vowels ą, g equally common in both parts of the “Punktų žodžiai” and in all editions of the dictionary? After all, other Zmonés* have more or less contributed to the preparation of Part II of the “Punkty sakymai” and to the three editions of the dictionary, which appeared after K. Širvydas’s death. A more precise answer to these questions can be given by statistics of all cases in which the aforementioned diphthongs and vowels occur, as well as by comparing individual facts characteristic of K. Širvydas’ writings with the corresponding data of the present Eastern Highland dialects.” The words and forms with am, an, em, en in K. Širvydas’ writings can be divided into two groups: 1) where these diphthongs are consistent in both parts of the “Punktų sakymai” and in all editions of the dictionary, 2) where am, an, em, en occur inconsistently, usually in one part of each of the “Punktų sakymai”, not in all editions of the dictionary. Words and forms with gq, e in sequence do not occur. It. The consecutive am, an, em, en are in several cases. a) em, en have to communicate with their derivatives of those verbs, in the present or past tense of which, or in both of the mentioned tense, these diphthongs break down, i.e. the first syllable becomes part of one syllable, and the second of another. Inconsistently in separate ar word forms more frequently ko occurram, an, en, very rarely — ą, g. a) Instead of the mixed diphthongs an, en, the second syllable of — which is a present tense root K. insertion, in Širvydas writings there is usually un, in: apiunku ‘apanku’ SD Iskunku III 264; SD 1 22, III 47; pripruntu SD I 87, 90, 1510x), 152, ground SD III splitting 190, round SP I 16; SP 1 39, 208(2x,, 308, II 44, 73, 100, 106, 209, 210, SD I 90, round kt. ; SP I 12, 28, 81 ir Suštup [<*su$lanpu] SD 1 83, stumpu SD III tumpa 1786.,; [<*no] SP 1 25, 89, 107, 108 ir kt., blunt SP I 102, the heaps SD I 34, 174, III 20, 31 ir kt ; ginda SP I 95, II 7, gindus SP I 80; fits "tenka" SP I 322, does not apply SD I 93, III 217, 398 ir kt However, several to types of forms are ir su diphthongs an, en: understood SD III 52 (greta: suprat’,suprantus® SD III 317, understSD IV 221), ood is found SP I 128, iszrandu SD III 109: gienduncieys SP II 207, patenka SP 11 178. Also mentioned here is the form ir szalu SD I 216, persal SD I 77, SD IV 247, next to frequency: szufu SD I 77, 215, Suszufu SD I 209, Shuta III 155, SP II 63. Currently in the eastern highland dialects of the above-mentioned forms an ir en the fate is unequal: en (gefda, prasmefga) speaks, it seems, all the eastern Highlanders, o an (comprehension, — development) mainly in ty the western edge of the dialect area. Iš pointers šį an mostly healthy have Siesikų, Ukmergės, Pabaisko, Gelvonų, Musninkų neighbourhoods. Almost all the rest of the area of Puntininkai is pronounced suprufita, ruūnda, but the fortification of analogous verbs varies here, e.g.: mų šiumpa ir (Karsakiškis, Kuktiškės, Tauragnai), ažufika (Kamajai, Tauragnai) and šlampa (Vabalninkas, Salamiestis, Skapiškis*), zaafika'* (Karsakiškis, Vabalninkas, Salamiestis, Skapiškis). Thus, when locating K. Širvydas’ birthplace on the basis of current dialect data, of all the above-mentioned forms, we can rely more reliably only on the present tense forms of the verbs (su)prasti, rasti. By comparing them with the corresponding forms of the “Punktų sakymai” and the “Dictionarium trium linguarum”, we can guess that the author of those publications was born on the edge of the zone where the word supruiita, rufida, is pronounced. b) Both in the parts of the “Points of Pronunciation” and in the dictionary en quite often has the word holy and all other derivatives of this root. However, not all words of the root mentioned in K. Širvydas’ writings contain the diphthong en equally: in some cases the word šlumpa is also used. 10 This inconsistency may have been caused by the influence of other forms: the present tense root 4 or i may have been replaced by vowels a and e (or a, e before the insertion of n in some places simply remained) according to such forms as: šlapti, šlapo; Gestures, gestures. In addition, a possible object, not in all dialects and not in all present tense forms of verbs, the insertion of n has occurred at the same time, e.g. nuseika (Karsakiškis, Vabalninkas, Kamajai), nusanka (Salamiestis, Skapiškis, Tauragnai) and izbraka (Kuktiškės). 143 on some pages there jų are more, in some fewer o do not occur at all. — ar This is particularly evident in,,The Points of Sayings"". The en mentioned root has several ir times in the dictionary (inventory 1 15, swintui 1 78, szwentay 111 429), but much more often — in (sszwyntorius III 36, szwyntas I 177, III 297, 333 ir kt ).
