During dialectological expeditions up to the present day, a considerable number of non-Slavic words are iš heard every day from the lips of people, among which there are many borrowed words of ir Lithuanian origin. ir Most of jų them are already well acquainted with Belarusian dialects, have adapted to the whole system of Belarusian language, į have grown up with it, have obeyed its laws. Jų all form Slavic: Slavic ending, suffix, prefix, only the main nucleus of such words — jų root (especially its consonantism), as well as the meaning of the word, still being relatively stable, allow us to see the primordial Baltic form and establish a close relationship with the corresponding Lithuanian words. jų jų su There are such ir Lithuanian-origin lexicons, whose semantic connection with Lithuanian words of the su same root is unquestionable, but the present Lithuanian language always has preserved its direct counterpartne s! jų ar tų the word forms that the Lithuanian language had in the past, the ir Belarusian schnekts borrowed from the iš Lithuanian which ir gave rise to the loan there. All of this vocabulary is presented in alphabetical order in the article. In each nest, a separate lexem is magrined, its meaning and localization are indicated, and an illustration is provided. When identifying the root of a lexem, first of all, it is attempted to find a possible Lithuanian source from which it could have been borrowed, and to prove the kinship of the borrowed and Lithuanian equivalent. If necessary, in individual cases, the etymology of one or another Belarusian lexicon is sometimes reviewed, data is presented that allows it to be questioned and often arguments are raised to propose a new one in its place. aūBėpka'strip, ribbon': AGeopkail 3aBsxb5I Kypbilibl Jamel i Haci. 1998. pp. 10. The same source. abépca ‘canapiné virvelė': Ilpsrasci a6opcy mami 3aBa3aub. Kuch., abépa "grain cord" <absopa (CBI, 1,38). The words are of Lithuanian origin, plg. lie. apvard < apara, apvarsté, vérti, see also CBM, 1, 55-56. adimiprye, adiuipsike ‘a man who, while wearing clothes, robs, you do not save’: He nam anzexbr ašdzipmycy raraMy. My friend. Ha icteim a6dz3ipsixce Hiskas amsexa He Jaspxsimua. Zod. Although both Lithuanian and Belarusian this root is independent (cf. br. a603ipanw: “apdriskes’ GrauZ.; a603ipaneyų “driskius’ Bak.; lit. dirti "to tear, carry"), but a603ipmyc, by meaning being a participant, is not formed according to the Belarusian participants' construction, but according to Lithuanian, cf. lit. finished "ripped, worn out' and br. a603ipans:. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that this whole lexicon has been borrowed from Lithuanian. Similarly, there is no doubt with a6d3ipesrxc, plg. lie. diric “who tears a garment’. The undeniable relative of these leksemy br. a603ipryc "who quickly tears off a garment' 9CBM, 1.46 qualifies as an artificially purified (mryuHas Jrani3aBans) form. Without further justification, this assumption is quite questionable. In our opinion, the morphology of the lexicon a6d3ipxyc as well as a603ipmyc is purely Lithuanian. ab ayaeiika "puffed-- up" Kalan. The 9CBM, 1, 46 lexem is semantically associated either with the participant a6dyam “anyxasi’, or with lie. apdijelis (should be apdijélis) ‘nypans’. "However, none of these assumptions are measured, because the etymology does not take into account the original form of this lexem. In fact, a60y4ėiūKa by metathesis (probably due to ease of pronunciation) has arisen from *adéy.éiika, which is Lithuanian, cf. atbulčika. aGmanrėsius “circumcised with a knife inflicting injury': CyciM admanmausiy Mine cycen. The lexicon, of course, is br. abmsmmims "exploring the fur" (CBI, 1,63), msunin "pushing the dagger" Msc., Gem., Mauramka 'pustyklé' Dan., Mamramanmne "pushing the dagger' Uš., Maxmramsmęs "pushing the dagger' Vas., navauramsmms "breaking (dishes, furniture- )' Cel., Maumtomka "pustyklė' Alch., Mamnijia 'pustyklé' Ad. relative. All these words are of Lithuanian origin, cf. lie. meriete, shoulder “bag; pustyklė' mėsti "to beat, to stir". 1. When entering br. šnektas, lie. words in them adapt, obey their laws, acquire a Slavic ending, suffix, prefix. However, the root of such a word remains unchanged for the longest, yields to this leveling the hardest and often retains lie for longer. dialectal phonetics characteristic of the schnecks (e.g. 2pymca, Kymuud, nimna, cYcnapoi, cympa, etc.). However, in general, the phonetics of borrowed words, as well as their morphology and semantics, are constantly changing. That change forms certain more pronounced laws. The most obvious change is that the form of the Belarusianized words is often simplified. First of all, the vocalism of the root narrows: lie. a is translated as o (pdSinas —néwans), ai —oi (paišos —ndūchi), am —om (samtis —comyix), ar —or (daižas —d0pc); monophonic diphthongs of the root: ei —2 (geibti —236nyys), uo —o (akūotas — akoma); diphthong consonant (stimbiras —yvi6Gypė) is emitted; the consonant at the beginning of the word is dropped (viksva —ikcea); a consonant of a consonant group is dropped (sparrow — MWhipbyn6); sound consonants are translated into silent ones (lausi —says); dead bodies slaughtered (body — 246151); consonants or individual syllables are replaced (variant —eanyépka) and so on. By changing in this way, the vocalism of the Lithuanian word creates completely new, until then uncharacteristic and unusual laws of the Balto-Slavic vocalism. This is especially true of the latter. conjugation of the diphthong au into the monophonic o (Kriaisis —xpowa, Paiites —nomki, Alaušas —anėc). In the case of Lithuanianism, the individual vowels of the root are often translated by their regular Belarusian equivalents: lie. w is translated i (kissing —bincykéeays), i —vi (cliché —KAbnudew, cf. also Lijitupis < Leritupis and br. JIšiumynoe). 2. The pronunciation of such words usually adapts to br. accentuation laws (cf. ikcea, KamMnpbiya, kémua, KiniuKa, Kywaa, nympa), but in cases where lie. accentuation does not contradict Slavic, the lexicon retains the old lie. Pronunciation ieanka, kiana, Kipdnaa, kopcmayya, KOciųs, KAGAbI, AdKmbi, MdpuiKa, npéza, pdzyyi, cmymd, wmM3p2AA and others). The morphology also undergoes significant changes: the grammatical genus of the word (pentin — nanyina, stuomud — cmymd), its number (ragaišis — pazéiiwnt) and so on are often changed. "Morphology of the borrowed word br. in conversation lose their morphological meaning and as separate parts of the word are not perceived, no longer exist. Therefore, the entire stem of such words is perceived as a root to which Slavic morphemes are attached, but they do not always give the product a new meaning, and sometimes they are only a sign of their Slavification (cf. kponeaxi < kruopélés + xi). The root perceived in this way usually loses its connection with the other words of the same nest, becomes isolated, lonely, detached from its meaning. In connection with this, such a root begins to be distorted unjustly. 4. Sometimes it happens that the whole prepositional compound is borrowed, which br. in the soil of snakes forms a single lexem (:340namy, cnadir6d). 5. The semantics of the words also undergoes certain changes, sometimes the meaning of the word changes, for example, švėplas "which does not pronounce certain sounds", in Belarusian dialects wmeėnna has the meaning of "what is disorderly" and so on. According to br. the phonetics of some borrowed roots, it can be assumed that and lie. In the dialects of the language, analogo199
us root lexems may have been used earlier and more widely (cf. xaunpsiya < namnpeya < pampirė + ica, also cf. LKA,I, 140 ir map. No. 70). 7. Some of the here discussed br. words and their phonetic duplicates allow a new interpretation and etymology of other (in our opinion, related to them) br. ir languages, including ir jų Ik used words kuowni). (: 8. The article deals with cases su where br. squeak borrowers bring new material, allowing for a re-review of individual lie. and r. words (: pumpūrė, linrba; wexéada, kabayx ‘nyra, nyka’) and when their phonetic dublets allow to conclude about the uneven time of borrowing of such dublety (xAimdei, Kabnudei)., Do all these and other linguistic development processes taking place in the study area form new laws of adaptation of borrowings in the Baltic Slavic languages? **. — FEE EEE Ap. — Shut it down. - EERETFEFEKEEFEEFETÉ? | 10 Article prepared for the report, sioje 1980 m.
