Funds were provided by the Ministry of Education and Science and the State Lithuanian Language Commission from the State Language Use and Education Program. Participation in the press 63.5 scientific articles (9 of them in foreign journals) and 43.33 conference theses (23.33 of them in international conferences) were published. On July 1-14, the Dictionaries Section of the Scientific Expedition organized an expedition in the surroundings of Alytus, Molėtai district. The expedition was led by Zita Šimėnaitė, participated Angelė Kaulakienė, Ritutė Petrokienė, Klementina Vosylytė. The speakers were assisted by G. Jakučionienė, a teacher from Alytus secondary school, and students from higher education institutions. During the expedition, 24 hours of dialect texts were recorded and 2000 lexicographical records were donated to the Lithuanian language dictionary. The Department of Language History and Dialectology organized three expeditions: on 27 June — 5 July Vita Pranskūnaitė (leader), Ona Aleknavičienė, Rima Bacevičiūtė, Ričardas Petkevičius, Nijolė Tuomienė and Edmundas Trumpa went to the surroundings of Ylakiai in Skuodas district; July 8-19, in the Balčiai area of Utena district, material was collected by Laima Grumadienė (manager), Ričardas Petkevičius, Vita Pranskūnaitė, Irena Raišutienė, Nijolė Tuomienė, Aloyzas Vidugiris and students of Vilnius Pedagogical University; On 23-31 July 2016, the dialect was studied in the Taujėnai area of Ukmergė district by Edmundas Trumpa (leader), Daiva Atkočaitytė, Rima Bacevičiūtė, Asta Leskauskaitė, Vita Pranskūnaitė, Audra Zavadzkaitė and students of Vytautas Magnus University. Conferences, seminars On January 26-27, 70 2009, in Vilnius, Teachers' House, was held the conference "Technical culture in the restored Republic of Lithuania: rise or decline? presentations read by Jonas Klimavičius (How language stabilizes) and Vytautas Vitkauskas ( "Final results of the final round". Algirdas Sabaliauskas told about the life and work of the famous linguist at the commemoration of August Schleicher, held at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania on February 19. On February 22, at the Latvian Language Institute’s scientific conference Statics and Dynamics of the Ka/ba, dedicated to the 123rd anniversary of the birth of academician Janis Endzelins, presentations were read by Saulius Ambrazas (De/baltic derivatives with the suffix *-modarybos raidos) and Ričardas Petkevičius (Del lietuviy and Latvian nouns of the same meaning). At the Mažvydas Readings held at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania on 28 March, Juozas Karaciejus (Wo/fenbiittelio postilė in the context of Lithuanian scripts of Lesser Lithuania) and Artūras Judžentis (Studies of the language of Martynas Mažvydas’ scripts: state and challenges) presented their papers. On April 18, the Department of Language Culture of the Institute organized a seminar on Foreign Languages through the Eyes of Linguists and Language Users in Vilnius City Council. In it Jonas Klimavičius spoke about the search for missing words and the seekers, Danguolė Mikulėnienė reviewed the word order and the corrections of the society, Pranas Kniūkšta discussed the attitude to strangeness and called not to fear the borrowed, but the foreign spirit. Especially for this event Jurga Girčienė and Loreta Vaicekauskienė prepared a brochure “Svetimybés ir jy pakaitai”. On April 22, Vytautas Vitkauskas delivered a presentation on the “Preciousness of the Language and Ideas of Young Lithuania” at a conference organized by the Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum in Kaunas. On April 25, Vidmantas Kuprevičius read a presentation on the problem of researching the literary and literary (written) language of Lafgaliesu at a seminar in Rezekne. The presentation was entitled “On the Latvian language words in the handwritten register of an unknown author of the Lithuanian Eastern — Polish language of the first half of the 19th century”. On May 6, 2016, Marytė Razmukaitė and Vidas Garliauskas participated in the UN Baltic Division Expert Group Meeting on Geographical Names Standardization, held in Riga. Danguolė Mikulėnienė, Aloyzas Vidugiris and Zigmas Zinkevičius participated in the discussion Mother tongue: concerns about its fate, organized by the Chamber of Scientists on 7 May. Saulius Ambrazas delivered a presentation on the historical perspective of word formation in Baltic languages at a seminar held at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) on 18-25 May. On June 4, at the conference Culture and Society, organized by the Institute of Humanities of Kaunas University of Technology, Kazys Gaivenis and Angelė Kaulakienė (Principes of extralinguistic terminology standardization) and Stasys Keinys (Lithuanian language at the dawn of the 21st century) presented their papers. On June 7, at the conference “Nation and Language” organized by the Kaunas Verdene Club, Kazys Garšva (Lithuanian language affairs on the outskirts of the state) and Zigmas Zinkevičius (Vilnius — world baltisty centre) read their presentations. At the conference of the World Lithuanian Association Lithuanian Studies on the Eve of the 21st Century: Research Priorities, Methods and Innovations, held on 4-6 July, Zigmas Zinkevičius (On the Priorities of Research in Historical Lithuanian Studies) and Aloyzas Vidugiris (The Meaning and Perspectives of Lithuanian Language Dialects) presented their papers. Kazys Morkūnas participated in the meeting of the European Atlas of Languages editors held at the Latvian Language Institute (Riga) on 20-21 September. He read a report on the work of linguistic geography in Lithuania.
