This study explores the history, features, and development of startups globally and within India, tracing their evolution from early small-scale ventures to the rise of technology-driven unicorns. It highlights the defining characteristics of startups such as innovation, scalability, and risk, while also outlining the process of launching a new venture. The research emphasizes India’s transformation into the world’s third-largest startup hub, with strong sectors in fintech, healthtech, SaaS, and sustainability-driven enterprises. The paper also discusses opportunities in untapped Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, green technologies, and AI-driven solutions. Based on primary and secondary data, the study concludes that startups not only drive innovation and employment but also shape India’s global economic presence. Idea Generation – Find a problem and create an innovative solution. 2. Market Research – Study demand, competitors, and customer needs. 3. Business Plan – Write goals, strategies, and financial projections. 4. Legal Registration – Register with government (like DPIIT in India). 5. Funding – Seek personal savings, angel investors, venture capital, or bank loans. 6. Product Development – Build a prototype or MVP (minimum viable product). 7.
