Abstract

This dataset contains numerical results from trials conducted to evaluate the effect of yeast treatment on carrot (Daucus carota) and cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) seeds. Experiments were carried out in both laboratory and greenhouse settings, focusing on parameters such as germination, vigor, early seedling development, and other physiological indicators. Additionally, the dataset includes results from laboratory assays performed to determine the production of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) by the yeast strains used in the seed treatments. The data are organized in a single Excel spreadsheet (Data_yeast_seeds.xlsx) with separate sheets for each experimental condition: Data Cauliflower Lab test DATA CAULIFLOWER GREENHOUSE DATA CARROT LABORATORY TESTS DATA IAA TRIALS All sheets include clearly labeled variables with descriptive column names written in full. Data were collected during the 2024 growing season in Chapecó, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Access to the dataset is temporarily restricted and will be made public upon publication of the associated article, currently under review at Discover Plants.

Dataset Title: Evaluation of Yeast Use in the Treatment of Carrot and Cauliflower Seeds Author: Vanessa Neumann Silva Institution: Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul (UFFS) Description: This dataset contains numerical results from trials conducted to evaluate the effect of yeast treatment on carrot (Daucus carota) and cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) seeds. File Format: • Data_yeast_seeds.xlsx: Excel spreadsheet containing all experimental data organized into separate sheets: o Data Cauliflower Lab test: results from laboratory tests on cauliflower seeds o DATA CAULIFLOWER GREENHOUSE: results from greenhouse trials with cauliflower o DATA CARROT LABORATORY TESTS: results from laboratory tests on carrot seeds o DATA IAA TRIALS: results from laboratory assays measuring indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production by yeast strains All sheets include clearly labeled variables with descriptive column names written in full. This ensures transparency and facilitates data interpretation by other researchers. Temporal Coverage: Data collected during the 2024 growing season Geographic Coverage: Chapecó, Santa Catarina, Brazil Methodology: Seeds were treated with different concentrations of yeast and subjected to standardized germination and vigor tests. Trials followed established protocols for laboratory and greenhouse conditions, with controlled temperature, humidity, and light. Data were organized in spreadsheets with replications and preliminary statistical analysis.
