Yet in everyday research practice, metadata annotation (essential "data about data" that describes, for example, experimental conditions, analysis settings, or knowledge annotations) is often overlooked,as researchers rarely enrich their data with sufficient metadata. Existing tools are perceived as complex and time-consuming,offering little immediate benefit.MetaFold addresses this challenge with asimple, template-based desktop application that makes RDM compliance as intuitive as creating a new local folder.By capturing rich metadata directly at the point of data creation, MetaFold turns proper data management from an afterthought into an effortless part of the research workflow. •Too many and too complex tools, detached from daily workflows. •RDM feels like extra work —no direct benefit.
