Research in astronomy and astrophysics, extrasolar planets, eclipsing binaries, solar system physics, observational astronomy and numerical explorations of dynaical systems at the Department for Physics and Chemistry (FKF) / SDU-Galaxy / CP3-Origins as well as observational astrophysics and related data science activities. I carried out long-term and statistically valid, large-scale N-body particle simulations to assess the long-term phase-space diffusion properties of orbital elements of natural satellites. The analysis involved the numerical computation of the maximum Lyapunov exponent to assess chaotic time evolution. Implementation of a Fortran-based / OpenMPI parallel computer code for the numerical solution of the equations of motion and associated variational equations. Phase-space diffusion properties were also investigated by the application of Fourier-based analysis techniques. Parallel research: extrasolar planets, data reduction and statistical data modelling and follow-up observations of transiting planets using the high-precision photometric telescope defocus technique. I obtained my first personal computer (Schneider CPC 464) in 1987 resulting in me learning the BASIC programming language.
