Abstract 158 species of Tortricidae are listed here for the fauna of Azerbaijan; 29 of them were found in the region for the first time. Aethes fennicana (M. Hering, 1924), Cnephasia stephensiana (Doubleday, 1849), Aphelia stigmatana (Eversmann, 1844) and Ancylis tineana (Hübner, 1799) are reported as new to the South Caucasus; Aethes kasyi Razowski, 1962, Diceratura teheranica Razowski, 1970, Lozotaenia forsterana (Fabricius, 1781), Pelochrista obscura Kuznetzov, 1978 and Cydia centralasiae (Obraztsov, 1949) are new for the Caucasus. This article continues the series of publications on Lepidoptera of Azerbaijan (Streltzov et al. 2024) and dealing with Tortricidae, the large and heterogeneous family of great economic importance. Historically, the study on the leafroller fauna of Azerbaijan began in XIX century with the monograph by G. Radde, where H. Christoph (1886) mentioned 21 species from Talysh, the region located along the southwestern coast of the Caspian Sea between modern Azerbaijan and Iran. A few years later, G. Radde (1899) added 3 more species to Azerbaijan fauna and J. Lederer (1870) described one species, Fulvoclysia defectana, from “Transcaucasus, montagnes d'Elisabethpol” which is now corresponds to the outskirts of Ganja city. The first publication dealing with Tortricidae of Azerbaijan in Soviet period was the paper by V.N. Rekach and T.A. Dobretsova (1935) where 3 species of the family were listed for the region. Later in publications by L. M. Akhundova-Tuaeva (1947, 1960) 1 and 7 species correspondingly were added to the list of tortricid species. At the same time, A.V. Bogachev (1951) mentioned another 5 species from Azerbaijan. In the monograph by A.S. Danilevsky and V.I. Kuznetzov (1968), basing on the material from the collection of ZISP (St. Petersburg, Russia), 27 species of the tribe Grapholitini were listed for the fauna of Azerbaijan. Later, V.I. Kuznetzov (1976) described Fulvoclysia rjabovi from Nakhchivan Republic and added 1 more tortricid species. In his keys for the fauna of the European USSR, V.I. Kuznetzov (1978) recorded 4 more species for the region under consideration. The monograph on fauna of Ukraine by Yu. A. Kostyuk (1980) contains information about another 15 species from Azerbaijan. Later, N.J. Vezirov, R.M. Effendi, Z.M. Aliyeva (1981) and C.B. Jafarov (1982) added 3 and 11 species correspondingly to the list of Azerbaijan Tortricidae. In the series of works by Sh.Y. Abdullayeva (1984, 1988, 1990), 77 species in total were recorded for Azerbaijan. In 2004, Z.M. Mamedov added 3 species; J. Razowski – added another 2 for the fauna of the region. In the most recent works by Sh.M. Maharramova (2010, 2011) 16 species were listed for Azerbaijan; and in 2012, B. Zlatkov and Yu. Budashkin described one more species of Tortricidae from the region. According to the data by Sh.M. Maharramova (2018), 128 species of Tortricidae recorded for Azerbaijan so far. However, our research allows us to consider actual amount of the previously recorded species as 129. Materials and Methods This article is based mainly on material collected by R.V. Yakovlev, N.Y. Snegovaya and N.A. Shapoval in 2023−2024 in 8 localities of Azerbaijan. One more locality comes from the material of the ZISP collection (Fig. 1). All of the studied specimens are deposited in the collection of Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia (ZISP). List of collecting localities 1. Results During our examination of the material collected in Azerbaijan 57 species of Tortricidae were found and identified. All available information on Azerbaijan Tortricidae is combined in a table format (Table 1), where for each species we provide both our data and literature references with the corresponding combination. The taxonomic order is given accordingly to the Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Russia (Sinev et al., 2019). Species new to Azerbaijan are marked with one asterisk (*), new for the South Caucasus – with two (**), and new for the Caucasus – with three asterisks (***).
