NOTES ON THE DATA SETS The trait data set of S1W2 subsumes trait measures administered in S1W2 only. Thus, each row corresponds to a unique participant. The state data set of S1W2 subsumes state and trait measures administered in S1W2. Thus, data is provided in long format (i.e., with one row of data per ESM report). We excluded data from the trait and state data set in the cases of (a) disagreement with conditions of participation, (b) missing data on all relevant variables, (c) participants under minimum required age, (d) test users, (e) duplicates. Moreover, we applied two additional exclusion criteria uniquely to the state data set, namely (f) incomplete state surveys and (g) state surveys completed too close to each other. For details on data exclusion, please refer to Section 2.4.2 of our data paper (Ryvkina et al., 20221). Moreover, from the trait and state data set shared on OSF, we removed the following variable for the sake of data anonymization: code. Sie erhalten dann individuelles Feedback zu Ihrem Verhalten und Ihrem emotionalen Wohlergehen in Zeiten vor und während der Corona-Pandemie. Dear participant, Welcome to the EMOTIONS study! Thank you for choosing to participate in the second part of the EMOTIONS study (EMOTIONS-C). You are making an important scientific contribution to learn more about the spread of the coronavirus. In the second part of the EMOTIONS study we would like to investigate how the coronavirus pandemic is changing everyday social life. To investigate this question, you will complete a short questionnaire in the EMOTIONS-C app up to six times a day for two weeks. Immediately following the study and at its conclusion after two weeks, you will also answer some additional questions about your experiences during the spread of the coronavirus. If you participate in the study for one week, you will receive 10 euros. If you answer more than 80% of the sent questionnaires for two weeks, you will receive 30 euros and 5 test person hours. At the end of April, we will send out detailed feedback on emotional feelings in everyday social life to all participants. You will then receive comprehensive feedback on your behavior and emotional well-being during the coronavirus crisis.
