(GOODCHILD, 2007 apud CAPINERI, 2016, tradução própria) “[…] there is the increased engagement of large numbers of citizens, generally with little technical expertise, in the creation of geospatial information—for centuries, an exclusive function of official agencies. [...] I coined the term voluntary geographic information, a special case of the Web phenomenon of user-generated content.” Capineri, C. 2016. The Nature of Volunteered Geographic Information.
There are two types of user awareness regarding data information, there are two volunteered geographic information: - Voluntary (or contributed) – the user is aware and actively sends data. (e.g. when the user enters their address in an application); - Opportunistic – the user is aware, but the sending is passive (e.g., algorithms that automatically collect data as the user uses the application).
ODbL – WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Data from the OSM database may be shared, provided that its source is mentioned with the attribution: “OpenStreetMap contributors” (or in any other language); Data from the OSM database may be used in private initiatives, if providing the authorship notice (as above) and keeping the data open; Do not send “closed” data (copyrighted or confidential data) to the OSM database, as the platform is open data and operates under an open data license (ODbL). 18 - 43 IVIDES DATA
OSM – REGRAS DE OURO DO MAPEAMENTO OSM – GOLDEN MAPPING RULES IVIDES DATA Waterways - Outras etiquetas importantes/ Other important tags • intermittent=yes - para cursos d'agua intermitentes, com período seco em épocas do ano; for intermittent watercourses, with dry periods at certain times of the year • seasonal=yes (ou spring, summer, autumn, winter, wet_season, dry_season) para cursos d'água com períodos secos em épocas do ano (ou outros ciclos) for watercourses with dry periods at certain times of the year (or other cycles) • ford=yes – mapear no ponto de cruzamento entre waterways e highways map at the intersection between waterways and highways
OSM – REGRAS DE OURO DO MAPEAMENTO OSM – GOLDEN MAPPING RULES IVIDES DATA Waterways ●Para distinguir waterways de highways observe se há sinuosidade e se a trajetória está de acordo com o relevo do local (utilize a camada de fundo OpenTopoMap). Neste caso, muito provavelmente trata-se de um curso d'água. ●Porém waterways podem ser confundidas com highways também, se tiverem aspecto retilíneo (como nos canais artificiais e os canais de irrigação), no caso de dúvidas, o(a) mapeador(a) deve não mapear ou perguntar aos colegas; ●Os rios devem ser desenhados conectados (rede hidrográfica); Mas não devem sobrepor-se a buildings ou outras feições. Porém podem cruzar vias, devendo incluir um ponto no cruzamento e atribuir a tag ford=yes (só no nó); • As waterways mais largas e com muitos tributários são os rios (waterway=river); ●Já os cursos d’água mais estreitos geralmente são córregos (waterway=stream);
OSM – REGRAS DE OURO DO MAPEAMENTO OSM – GOLDEN MAPPING RULES IVIDES DATA Waterways ●To distinguish waterways from highways, check for sinuosity and whether the trajectory matches the local terrain (use the OpenTopoMap background layer). In this case, it is most likely a watercourse. ●However, waterways can also be confused with highways if they are straight (such as artificial canals and irrigation channels). If in doubt, the mapper should not map or ask colleagues; ●Rivers should be drawn connected (hydrographic network); But they should not overlap buildings or other features. However, they can cross roads, in which case a point should be included at the intersection and the tag ford=yes should be assigned (only at the node). ●The widest waterways with many tributaries are rivers (waterway=river). ●Narrower waterways are usually streams (waterway=stream).
OSM – REGRAS DE OURO DO MAPEAMENTO OSM – GOLDEN MAPPING RULES IVIDES DATA Waterways ●The OSM Wiki offers a tip for determining whether it is a river or a stream: if you can cross it with a single jump, it is a stream. However, you can consult official data, for example, to check whether it is a river or a stream. ●Pay attention to toponymy (geographical names) - sometimes the name contains the word “river,” but it is a stream; similarly, the name may contain “stream” and it may be a river. This is because some of the official geographical names were assigned based on local knowledge, on the name given by the inhabitants of the place. For example: The “Guaíba River” (as the inhabitants call it) is actually a lake, located in the Jacuí River delta.
OSM – REGRAS DE OURO DO MAPEAMENTO OSM – GOLDEN MAPPING RULES IVIDES DATA Waterways ●The direction you use to draw the waterways will be registered by the editor. It will save as the direction of water flow. ●To understand which direction the waterway has, load the OpenTopoMap background image and check the contour lines—water flows from higher to lower elevation areas.
