SeDOA Service Centre for Diamond Open Access Goal set by the DFG 4 “The objective of the funding is to boost the performance capacity of Diamond Open Access infrastructures located at publicly organised institutions in Germany or operated by non-commercial and non-profit actors in Germany. (...) SeDOA Service Centre for Diamond Open Access How will SeDOA implement these objectives? 5 •Develop a decentralised yet interconnected German Diamond OA infrastructure from a European perspective •Provide qualified publishing services and extensive support on multiple levels •Strengthen the quality, credibility and acceptance of institutional publishing •Address a wide range of disciplines (“one size does not fit all”) •Establish common standards and robust quality control mechanisms •Increase the visibility and recognition of Diamond OA publications (registry)

SeDOA Service Centre for Diamond Open Access Approach of SeDOA Work Package 5 16 •SeDOA minimal definition for Diamond OA journals: “In Diamond Open Access journals, quality-assured articles are published free of charge for authors and readers under an open access-compliant licence. The journal or title rights belong to the scholarly community. Diamond Open Access journals serve academic communication and non-commercial purposes.” •SeDOA WP 5 will follow the CRAFT-OA “Operational Diamond OA Criteria for Journals“
SeDOA Service Centre for Diamond Open Access Approach of SeDOA Work Package 5 17 •SeDOA WP 5 will adopt and expand the workflow of the CODRIA project (see Taubert et.al. 2022) and use existing data sources like DOAJ, EZB, ISSN Portal, etc. to create a provisional list of Diamond OA journal titles which has to be checked manually afterwards •We will recommend, that all Diamond OA journals should be registered in the EZB and if possible in the DOAJ •The DDH journal metadata schema will be expanded for bibliometric analyses on title and article level •The data of the SeDOA registry will be provided to the DDH
