The role of a person-centered approach, innovative pedagogical technologies, interactive methods and information and communication technologies in the modern educational process is analyzed. The formation of cognitive interests is considered an important factor in increasing students’ independent thinking, creative approach and level of mastery. Keywords: education quality, cognitive interest, effectiveness, innovative technologies, interactive methods. 1. Introduction. The modern education system is a decisive factor in the intellectual, economic and social development of society. In today’s conditions of globalization, digital transformation and innovative economy, the quality of education is determined not only by the content of curricula or the material and technical base, but also by the cognitive activity of learners, the level of creative thinking and the ability to learn independently. Therefore, one of the main tasks of modern education is to form students not as masters of ready-made knowledge, but as individuals who are able to search for, analyze and apply new knowledge in practice. Cognitive interest (i.e., the internal need to know) is a natural human desire to gain knowledge, learn, and comprehend new things. This internal motivation is the main driving force behind active participation in the learning process, independent thinking, and a creative approach. Therefore, the development of cognitive interest is considered one of the central psychological and pedagogical tasks of the educational process[1].
RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ISSN: 2181-3191 VOLUME 4 | ISSUE 8 | 2025 Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal October, 2025 16 Currently, the higher education system is experiencing problems such as a decrease in students’ motivation for the learning process, their inability to connect knowledge with practice, or their focus solely on getting grades. This, in turn, negatively affects the quality of education. In this regard, the formation of cognitive interest is an important psychological mechanism for increasing educational effectiveness. Pedagogical research shows that in order to increase the cognitive activity of students, it is necessary to organize the educational process in an interactive, reflexive and research-oriented way. The teacher participates in his work not only as a provider of information, but also as a person who develops the student’s thinking, encourages knowledge. Only such an approach forms a conscious attitude of students to learning, develops their skills of independent study, analysis and application in practical activities. Therefore, the development of cognitive interests in modern education is one of the main factors in increasing the effectiveness of education, forming innovative thinking and enhancing human capital. It requires the implementation of the principle of a person-centered approach, placing the student at the center of the pedagogical process. 2. The concept of cognitive interest and its importance. Cognitive curiosity is a person’s internal desire to acquire new knowledge about the environment, nature, technology and social processes, to understand the essence of existing phenomena, to understand cause-and-effect relationships. It is directly related to such cognitive processes as human thinking, attention, memory and perception, and is one of the main psychological factors determining the effectiveness of the educational process. The essence of cognitive interest is that it arises not from external stimuli, but from the need for knowledge that arises in the student himself. Therefore, this type of interest is based on stable, internal motivation, which forms the student’s skills of independent study, analysis and drawing conclusions. The student or pupil appears as a subject of his own cognitive activity - he no longer becomes a receiver of ready-made information, but a seeker and creator of new knowledge. From a pedagogical point of view, cognitive interest is manifested in the educational process as the integration of learning motivation, knowledge-oriented activity and creative thinking. The student’s active participation in the lesson, his interest in asking questions, finding solutions to problem situations, conducting experiments or creating projects indicates the level of his cognitive activity[2].
RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ISSN: 2181-3191 VOLUME 4 | ISSUE 8 | 2025 Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal October, 2025 17 When cognitive interest is formed, the learning process is perceived not as an obligation, but as a creative activity that satisfies a socio-psychological need. In this case, the student: - - consciously seeks to assimilate new information; - - tries to justify his opinion and draw independent conclusions; - - is interested in applying the acquired knowledge in practice; - - develops the ability to think critically and creatively in the learning process. The level of development of cognitive interest directly affects the quality of education. According to the research of psychologists and pedagogical scientists (for example, L.S. Vygotsky, J. Piaget, B. Bloom), the effectiveness of human activity is determined by his internal motivation to learn. Therefore, one of the most important tasks for a teacher is to awaken in students the need for knowledge, constantly support interest and direct it creatively. Today, to support this process, teachers widely use interactive games, problem situations, analytical tasks, project work and research elements. As a result, students’ internal need for knowledge increases, and lessons become not just a means of obtaining theoretical knowledge, but a process of personal intellectual growth and selfawareness. Thus, cognitive interest is a central mechanism in the educational process that not only helps to acquire knowledge, but also forms the skills of thinking, analysis, and creative decision-making. It is of decisive importance in developing the intellectual potential of a person, improving the quality of education, and ensuring the effectiveness of teaching in general. 3. The role of innovative technologies in the development of cognitive interest. The role of innovative pedagogical technologies in the formation and development of students’ cognitive interest in the modern education system is incomparable. The rapid development of information and communication technologies, the introduction of tools such as digital learning environments, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) significantly increase the interactivity and efficiency of the educational process. Interactive teaching methods - including Case-study (situational analysis), Project-based learning (project-based learning), Gamification (introduction of game elements into the learning process) - activate students’ thinking, personally involve them in the subject being studied, and develop independent decisionmaking skills. Through these methods, students not only acquire ready-made knowledge, but also actively participate in the process of justifying their own opinions, analyzing, finding solutions to problems, and drawing conclusions.
RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ISSN: 2181-3191 VOLUME 4 | ISSUE 8 | 2025 Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal October, 2025 18 For example, in the Case-study method, students are presented with a problem based on a real or close situation, and by analyzing it, students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context. Project-based learning, on the other hand, encourages students to work in a team, think creatively, and develop innovative approaches. Through gamification methods, the learning process takes place in a competitive, stimulating environment, which naturally increases cognitive motivation[2]. Virtual labs and simulations are especially important for students studying in technical and engineering fields. They allow students to conduct complex experiments in a safe, controlled environment. This allows students to deeply analyze phenomena, understand cause-and-effect relationships, and as a result, increase cognitive activity and research motivation. In addition, AI-based learning systems allow for the formation of an individual learning trajectory, analysis of the student’s level of mastery, and personalized recommendations. This encourages the student to analyze his or her own performance, identify gaps in knowledge, and fill them. AR/VR technologies, on the other hand, present educational materials in a visual and immersive way, creating conditions close to real-life experience. As a result, the student not only hears or reads the topic being studied, but also experiences it, which ensures deep cognitive mastery. In conclusion, innovative technologies not only increase the efficiency of the educational process, but also serve as a key tool in developing students’ creative thinking, motivation for independent learning, and cognitive activity. Such technological approaches adapt education to the requirements of the information age and form the competence of "learning to learn" in students. 4. The role of the teacher and psychological factors. In the process of developing cognitive interest, the teacher, as a central figure, plays the role of a motivator, facilitator and guide. In modern education, the teacher is not only a provider of knowledge, but also a person who forms the skills of independent thinking, problem analysis, research and investigation in students. Therefore, in his work, he should not be limited to only conveying ready-made knowledge, but also encourage students to learn, ask questions, provide evidence and draw independent conclusions. As a motivator, the teacher activates the student’s internal need for learning. To do this, he organizes the learning process in a meaningful way, enriched with real-life examples and connected with personal experience. The teacher must also take into account the unique cognitive style and learning speed of each student. A person-centered approach means respecting the student’s personality, valuing his opinion and recognizing him as an active subject.
RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ISSN: 2181-3191 VOLUME 4 | ISSUE 8 | 2025 Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal October, 2025 19 As a facilitator, the teacher plays a guiding role, organizing the learning process, but not controlling it. He does not give students ready-made solutions, but encourages them to form their own opinions, to find the right answer through research. In this way, the teacher creates a positive psychological atmosphere in the learning environment: he forms a culture of not being afraid of mistakes, freely expressing their opinions, working together, and self-assessment in students [3]. The psychological environment plays an extremely important role in the development of cognitive interest. When a positive emotional background, mutual trust, cooperation and support are created in the learning process, the student’s thinking activity increases. On the contrary, in an overly critical, competitive or fear-based environment, cognitive processes slow down, and the student becomes passive. Therefore, the teacher should focus on creating a psychologically comfortable, emotionally stable and friendly learning environment. In addition, the culture of communication and the assessment system also directly affect the effectiveness of cognitive processes. Open, respectful communication between the teacher and the student develops in students the ability to freely express their opinions, ask questions and defend their point of view. The assessment system should serve not only as a control tool, but also as a motivational stimulus. Formative (assessment during the process) approaches show the dynamics of the student’s growth and encourage him to work on himself [4]. In conclusion, the teacher participates in the development of cognitive interest not only as a provider of knowledge, but also as a spiritual and intellectual guide who guides the processes of personal growth, research and thinking. The psychological environment he creates, the culture of communication, the assessment system and the individual approach are the main factors determining the effectiveness of cognitive processes. 5. Conclusion. In conclusion, the development of students’ cognitive interests is one of the strategic tasks of the modern education system and is one of the most important factors in improving the quality and efficiency of education. Cognitive interest, as a person’s internal need for learning, determines not only the process of acquiring knowledge, but also the entire intellectual, emotional and social development of the individual. Therefore, pedagogical activities aimed at its formation should be carried out systematically and scientifically at each stage of education. Developing cognitive interest in students requires updating the organizational form of the educational process, introducing interactive methods, and implementing the principles of education focused on the individual student. Interactive cooperation between the teacher and the student is the basis of this process, and the exchange of
RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ISSN: 2181-3191 VOLUME 4 | ISSUE 8 | 2025 Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal October, 2025 20 knowledge should be not one-sided, but two-way. The teacher, being a source of knowledge, also plays the role of a mentor who guides the student to study, research, and solve problem situations. Modern information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, AR/VR simulations, and multimedia educational tools are serving as effective tools for increasing cognitive activity. Their use enlivens the learning process, allowing for the visualization and acquisition of knowledge through experience. Through this, students learn to apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems. The socio-psychological aspects of stimulating cognitive interests are also important. A favorable psychological environment created by the teacher, positive motivation, positive communication, and a fair assessment system develop selfconfidence, independent thinking, analytical approach, and creative thinking in the student. Therefore, the development of cognitive interests in improving the quality of education requires an integrative approach: in this case, the pedagogical skills of the teacher, the capabilities of innovative technologies and the internal motivation of the student are combined in a single system. As a result, the student is formed not only as a learner, but also as a creator of knowledge, self-developing, creative and competitive person. REFERENCES 1. Hasanboeva, O., & To‘raqulova, M. (2021).
