Akhmedova Uzbekistan national pedagogical university named after Nizami 2nd doctoral student [email protected] Annotation In the modern educational landscape, pedagogical and didactic design principles serve as a methodological foundation for improving teaching systems, enhancing methodological support, and ensuring the continuity and quality of education. The application of design technology in organizing independent learning activities, particularly for history-major students studying foreign languages, contributes to increasing the effectiveness of teaching by creating a collaborative environment between teachers and learners. This paper explores the methodological framework of developing students’ independent learning through pedagogical design technology and integrated modern approaches. Key words: independent learning, design technology, pedagogical design, competence-based learning, project-based approach, task-based learning, blended learning, higher education, history-major students, methodological framework. In contemporary higher education, the improvement of teaching practices through pedagogical-didactic design has become a central objective for sustaining educational quality. For history-major students, organizing independent learning of foreign languages through design-based methods enables the integration of theory and practice while fostering analytical, critical, and creative thinking. Such an approach not only deepens students’ theoretical knowledge but also enhances their professional and practical skills, promoting academic autonomy and lifelong learning. Moreover, the integration of innovative pedagogical and digital technologies expands the opportunities for students to acquire and apply knowledge independently in their future professional activities. In today’s educational context, integrating academic disciplines with information technologies and foreign languages plays a crucial role. Each element of the learning process—objectives, content, forms, and tools—should be interconnected within a systematic framework that evolves progressively across stages of development. Recent advancements in pedagogical design emphasize the harmonization of these elements to ensure continuity, coherence, and efficiency in education. The effective organization of independent learning relies heavily on pedagogical-didactic components that support both cognitive and personal development. Design technology not only structures the process of knowledge acquisition but also contributes to the development of essential competencies. Content-based, task-based, project-based, competence-based, and blended learning models are among the modern pedagogical approaches that ensure systematic development of students’ independent learning activities. Each approach provides unique benefits in terms of fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and reflective skills.
