101100622/agrifoodTEF AGRIFOOD TEF D5.13 Training catalogue development Y2 December 20th, 2024, 4 Abstract AgrifoodTEF, a European consortium of testing and validation infrastructures, supports agri-food companies in developing AI and robotics solutions tailored to the specific needs of end-users. By using existing test farms and AI/robotics facilities in representative European regions, AgrifoodTEF bridges the gap between research and practical applications and promotes sustainable and efficient agriculture. The initiative consolidates expertise and resources to position the EU as a world leader in food security while meeting usability, economic and regulatory requirements. Key activities include testing and validating AI-driven technologies, setting standards for data sovereignty, algorithm interoperability and benchmarking, and promoting stakeholder collaboration. AgrifoodTEF integrates regional specialities with uniform guidelines across nodes and satellites, improving mutual support of services and stimulating innovation in the agri-food sector. Training, workshop and courses activities take centre stage, equipping European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) to disseminate technological expertise and promote TEF services. Through a robust stakeholder engagement strategy, AgrifoodTEF is developing a network of actors, including EDIHs and other Horizon Europe initiatives, so that SMEs and other stakeholders can access TEF services. By collaborating with EDIHs, the initiative strengthens testing facilities, experimental opportunities and innovation capacity across Europe. This effort includes the development of a training, workshop and courses catalogue, an accessible web portal and standardised communication materials, improving the visibility and adoption of advanced technologies. AgrifoodTEF's holistic approach aims to increase the efficiency of agricultural production, similar to the transformative Green Revolution, while contributing to Europe's leadership in sustainable, technology-driven agri-food solutions.

The project aims to accelerate the integration of digital technologies, such as AI, data analytics and robotics, into the agri-food sector to boost sustainable and efficient food production. A key part of this mission is to provide specialised training, workshop and courses to European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs). These activities strengthen EDIHs by providing them with the expertise and resources to successfully translate innovative technologies into practice. Training, workshop and courses programmes range from introductory courses on AgrifoodTEF services to specialised workshops on data spaces, AI integration and compliancy. With a strong focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing, AgrifoodTEF not only provides training, workshop and courses but also facilitates synergies between EDIHs and other European initiatives. The training, workshop and courses catalogue, which will be available through the AgrifoodTEF website, is a tool for making educational resources accessible. The ultimate goal is to support companies in adopting digital innovations and strengthen Europe's position in sustainable agrifood solutions. AgrifoodTEF ensures the relevance and quality of its training, workshop and courses programs by implementing a structured, iterative process that includes needs assessments, surveys, and direct feedback mechanisms from EDIHs. Collaborative workshops during Synergy Days and participation in events like the EDIH Summit have created platforms for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and the identification of synergies. By 2025, the training, workshop and courses catalogue will be fully integrated into the AgrifoodTEF website, offering a user-friendly and accessible portal for training, workshop and courses activities. The initiative aims to develop at least 60 high-quality training, workshop and courses programs by the end of the project, reaching a wide audience of stakeholders across Europe. Through this strategic approach, AgrifoodTEF not only supports the digital transformation of the agri-food sector but also strengthens the capacity of EDIHs to guide SMEs and startups in adopting innovative technologies. This effort contributes directly to Europe’s ambitions for sustainable, resilient, and technology-driven food production systems.

Introduction By emphasizing quality and precision in testing and experimentation, AgrifoodTEF builds a robust foundation of expertise that we actively aim to share with the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) ecosystem. Collaborating with EDIHs provides a unique opportunity to disseminate this knowledge and enables EDIHs to promote the capabilities of TEF services to their clients. This partnership ensures that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can access TEF services through EDIHs, while EDIHs benefit from the expertise to operate at a high professional level, meeting both industry standards and client needs. AgrifoodTEF’s objective is to empower EDIHs by transferring knowledge and experience, enabling them to deliver high-quality services. This collaboration not only enhances the operational capabilities of EDIHs but also strengthens testing facilities and experimental opportunities in the broader agri-food sector, fostering innovation and sustainable growth. The EDIH network, spanning across Europe, supports companies—particularly SMEs—in adopting innovative technologies. A critical function of EDIHs is to provide training workshop and courses activities that enable businesses to understand and effectively implement digital solutions. To accelerate the uptake of proven innovations, AgrifoodTEF will collaborate closely with the EDIH network, developing tailored training, workshop and courses programs that include formats such as "Train the Trainer" and hands-on workshops led by experts specializing in data, AI, and robotics applications. This mutual collaboration benefits both AgrifoodTEF and EDIHs by enhancing human capital through skill development and by creating opportunities for highly specialized, targeted workshops. Such efforts aim to accelerate the market adoption of trusted innovations, reinforcing shared goals and driving progress within the agri-food sector. To achieve these objectives, AgrifoodTEF will establish a comprehensive training catalogue encompassing workshops and courses offered both online and on-site. This catalogue will consolidate best practices, share knowledge, and continuously improve the quality of TEF services. It will serve as a dynamic resource, providing accessible training, training, workshop and courses opportunities to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills in advanced digital technologies. Through standardized communication materials and targeted outreach, AgrifoodTEF will bridge communication gaps, implement an effective public affairs strategy, and build a resilient agri-food ecosystem. By equipping EDIHs with the tools and expertise they need, AgrifoodTEF ensures the shared vision of driving innovation, sustainability, and technological excellence in the agri-food sector becomes a reality.

European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) and AgrifoodTEF Collaboration The European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), established under the EU's Digital Europe programme, are key drivers of digital transformation in various sectors, including the agri-food sector. Building on initiatives such as SmartAgriHubs and AgRoboFood, EDIHs are working with AgrifoodTEF to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies in the agri-food sector. The long-term goal of AgrifoodTEF is to support EDIHs through targeted ‘train the trainer’ programmes and knowledge transfer. To align TEF training, workshop and courses with the needs of the EDIHs, partners who are also EDIHs have collaborated in the creation of a needs assessment, see figure 1. This needs assessment was used to develop an initial tailor-made training, training, workshop and courses catalogue to ensure that the offerings meet the specific challenges faced by stakeholders in the agri-food sector. Thematic working groups The establishment of the agri-food thematic working group within the EDIH network in 2024 provides a unique and strategic opportunity for AgrifoodTEF to work more closely with key players in the agri-food sector. This collaboration allows AgrifoodTEF to better understand the specific needs and challenges within the sector from the perspective of EDIHs, and to target the development of digital technologies to meet the requirements of companies and organisations. By connecting this thematic working group, AgrifoodTEF can not only expand its reach, but also offer concrete solutions that contribute to the acceleration of innovation in the agri-food sector. AgrifoodTEF provides targeted trainings, workshop and courses to EDIHs to facilitate knowledge transfer and capacity building. These trainings, workshop and courses enable EDIHs to effectively translate AgrifoodTEF's services and expertise to their customers, such as SMEs and startups in the agri-food sector. This allows EDIHs to strengthen their role as a support partner and guide companies in adopting digital technologies, in particular such as AI and robotics. This close collaboration will create efficient interactions and allow EDIHs to make targeted referrals of companies to
101100622/agrifoodTEF AGRIFOOD TEF D5.13 Training catalogue development Y2 December 20th, 2024, 8 AgrifoodTEF’s specialised testing and validation services, while AgrifoodTEF in turn can refer companies to EDIHs for additional support and regional expertise. This complementary model ensures that companies make optimal use of available services and knowledge, and that both AgrifoodTEF and the EDIHs increase their impact within the European innovation ecosystem. Figure 2: Technology Readiness Levels EDIHs versus AgrifoodTEF During the summer of 2024, initial contacts were made between AgrifoodTEF and the EDIHs within the agrifood thematic working group. An introductory meeting facilitated a mutual exchange, where both initiatives were briefly presented, and the shared objective of a survey was discussed. This survey aimed to identify the specific needs and challenges faced by EDIHs operating in the agrifood sector. Despite considerable efforts to promote and distribute the survey, participation proved challenging, reflecting the inherent difficulty of gathering responses in such initiatives. Ultimately, 17 responses were collected. This number, while modest, provided valuable insights into the priorities and pain points of EDIHs. It also highlighted the importance of persistence and collaboration in engaging stakeholders effectively. Following the analysis of the survey results, AgrifoodTEF presented the findings to the working group, fostering an in-depth collaboration. Building on these insights, both parties co-organized a workshop during the Synergy Days 2024 in Barcelona, bringing together stakeholders to discuss and address key topics. In addition, AgrifoodTEF actively participated in the EDIH Summit in November 2024, showcasing the project to a broad audience of European stakeholders. These activities strengthened the collaboration between AgrifoodTEF and EDIHs, paving the way for future joint initiatives to drive innovation in the agrifood sector.

Synergy days workshop The workshop organised as part of the Synergy Days 2024, entitled ‘How can AgrifoodTEF – a €60 million project - help EDIHs support SMEs?’, focused on exploring concrete cooperation opportunities and strengthening the role of EDIHs in supporting SMEs within the agri-food sector (Figure 2). Attendees represented various sectors, as illustrated in the chart below, and contributed to an interactive dialogue on how these entities can better support each other to benefit SMEs. Figure 3: Attendees Synergy days workshop A series of presentations were given during the event: • Raffaele Bini from DATAlife DIH explained the objectives and scope of AgrifoodTEF, highlighting the TEF model. This model enables consortium partners to offer their expertise, knowledge and facilities for hands-on validation services for European SMEs and technology companies. • Thomas Lainé from Bretagne Dévelopment Innovation presented the AgriFood EDIH Thematic Working Group (TWG), which is comprised of more than 30 EDIHs and focuses on promoting digital innovation and adoption of new technologies in the sector. The workshop further explored synergies between AgrifoodTEF and EDIH initiatives. • Marijke Hunninck (ILVO) explained AgrifoodTEF's trainings workshop and courses offer for EDIHs, focusing on increasing EDIHs' understanding of AgrifoodTEF's data, AI and robotics services and solutions. She conducted a survey to further identify the training needs of EDIHs, which serves as a basis for future training, workshop and courses programmes. The discussion, moderated by Lucía Castro Díaz from DATAlife DIH, focused on how AgrifoodTEF and EDIHs can collaborate. Purpose of the EDIHs Training, Workshops and Courses Catalogue The AgrifoodTEF training, workshop and courses catalogue will be a repository documenting training and demonstration activities related to AgrifoodTEF services for EDIHs. It will provide valuable insights into educational initiatives and showcases aimed at promoting technological advances in the agri-food sector. The catalogue will be developed in collaboration with TrustIT, who is responsible for the development of the AgrifoodTEF website, and will be launched in the first half of 2025. This catalogue will be integrated into the AgrifoodTEF website, offering EDIHs easy access to training, workshop and courses programs. 4.2. Training, workshop and courses 1. AgrifoodTEF for EDIHs: This training gives EDIHs a clear and easy-to-grasp overview of how AgrifoodTEF works. It’s all about creating synergies, streamlining how we work together, and showing EDIHs how to connect with the right nodes. You’ll learn about the services, working methods, and real-life examples of user cases. Plus, we’ll make it personal! The training can be customized to showcase the unique strengths and services of your local node, and it can even be delivered in your national language. This training is offered by the al agrifoodTEF nodes and in the language if the Spanish, Austian, French, Belgium, Swedish and Polish node. 2. Physical infrastructures in AgrifoodTEF: Let’s dive into the incredible physical infrastructures AgrifoodTEF has to offer! This training highlights the strengths of each local node, showcasing their facilities and capabilities. It’s all about exploring potential collaborations and identifying new services to meet emerging needs. This training is offered by the French, Swedish, Austian and Belgium node. 3. Presentation of the services in clusters/sectors: Curious about AgrifoodTEF’s services? This training walks you through them all, showing you what’s available and how they can help in your specific sector. Perfect for finding opportunities for collaboration. This training is offered by the French, Belgium and Austian node. 4. The journey of a firm in AgrifoodTEF: Take a step-by-step tour of how AgrifoodTEF supports firms. From initial contact to accessing the right resources, we’ll show you how to navigate the process and make the most of everything AgrifoodTEF offers. This training is provided by the French and Austrian nodes. This training is offered by the French and Austrian node. 5. The AgrifoodTEF service journey: Want to know all about the Belgian node? This in-depth training focuses on its services, infrastructure, and collaboration opportunities. We’ll guide you through every step, from getting started to full cooperation, with plenty of practical insights along the way. This training is offered by the Belgium node. 6. Ways of Working withing AgrifoodTEF Sweden: Learn how AgrifoodTEF Sweden supports SMEs! This workshop takes you through their customer journey process, explaining how services are developed and sharing lessons learned. It’s all about practical insights tailored to the needs of your group and location. This training is offered by the Swedish node.

Learn about the regulatory landscape and discover the services AgrifoodTEF offers to help you stay compliant. This training is offered by the French node. 9. Digital Infrastructure at AgrifoodTEF: Discover the digital side of AgrifoodTEF! This training shows how digital infrastructures can be used to their full potential. We’ll also give you insights into what other nodes offer, all tailored to your group’s needs. This training is offered by the Swedish node. 10. ELSA Workshop: Digital Twin Implementation in Dairy Farming: Explore the ethical, legal, and social aspects of Digital Twin technology in dairy farming. This interactive workshop uses ELSA scanning to tackle challenges, highlight opportunities, and develop practical solutions This training is offered by the Dutch node. 11. Roadmap for the training, workshops and courses catalogue During the project’s lifetime, the AgrifoodTEF team is going to create a detailed roadmap for developing at least 60 training courses for EDIHs requires clear milestones, timelines and executable steps. Below is a comprehensive roadmap that aligns with our goals and includes the necessary details to ensure practicality and effectiveness. Figure 8: Roadmap for the training catalogue ➢ Year 2: Building the training, Workshops and Courses catalogue Each node had to provide 4 trainings and each satellite 2 trainings, so by the end of year 2, at least 22 training need to be in the training catalogue. Year 2 laid a strong foundation for the training program by collecting data on EDIH needs, building the initial training catalogue, and delivering the first training sessions. A total of 27 training courses were collected and implemented, showcasing the diverse expertise of nodes like the Belgian, Austrian, Swedish, and Polish teams. ➢ Year 3: Expanding and Enhancing EDIH Training Initiatives In Year 3, AgrifoodTEF will place significant emphasis on organizing a series of workshops for EDIHs to deepen their understanding of the services and infrastructure provided by the various AgrifoodTEF nodes and satellites. This effort builds upon the progress made in Year 2 and sets the stage for an expanded, diversified, and impactful training program. In collaboration with tasks 5.3 a training catalogue will be integrated into the AgrifoodTEF website (https://www.AgrifoodTEF.eu/). Evaluation of the training catalogue and scale up the training program to reach more EDIHs and stakeholders. Diversify training offerings to cover a wider range of topics and areas of specialization. Review progress and make necessary adjustments. Also in year 3, each node and satellite need to provide the same number of trainings as in year 2, so by the end of year 3, at least 44 training need to be in the training catalogue.
101100622/agrifoodTEF AGRIFOOD TEF D5.13 Training catalogue development Y2 December 20th, 2024, 20 Workshops and Initial Engagements: • On the 17th of January 2025 a workshop on How can agrifoodTEF help EDIHs support SMEs will be coorganised with the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), agrifoodTEF explored ways to create accessible training materials for industries and farmers interested in adopting digital agritech solutions. The session identified specific topics and content formats needed for new training materials, set to be available soon on the agrifoodTEF Training Platform. • On the 7th and 28th February and on the 14th of March 2025, three additional workshops will be held each highlighting the specific services and infrastructure of different nodes. Following this initial workshop series, a comprehensive evaluation will be conducted to assess their effectiveness. Based on the feedback, a more technical series of webinars will be planned, tailored to meet the specific technical and operational needs of EDIHs. ➢ Year 4: Evaluation and Scaling the Training Program Evaluate the expanded training catalogue and develop the final set of training courses to address any remaining gaps. Refine offerings based on participant feedback and emerging technological advancements ➢ Year 5: Harvesting Insights Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the training program and share knowledge and best practices with stakeholders. This roadmap ensures a structured and comprehensive approach to developing 60 high-quality trainings for EDIHs and other stakeholders by the end of the project. The roadmap will be updated every year in the upcoming deliverables on the training catalogue.

The initiative’s strategic focus rests on three key pillars: 1. Empowering EDIHs through tailored training: AgrifoodTEF provides EDIHs with targeted training programs designed to enhance their understanding and promotion of digital technologies such as AI, robotics, and data systems. This includes courses on compliance, cybersecurity, data spaces, and AI integration, ensuring that EDIHs can effectively deliver these services to SMEs. 2. Accelerating technology adoption: By aligning training content with industry needs, AgrifoodTEF supports SMEs in adopting technologies that improve productivity and sustainability. 3. Facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange: AgrifoodTEF actively promotes synergies between EDIHs and other European initiatives through workshops, surveys, and participation in events like the Synergy Days and EDIH Summit. These interactions build a strong network of stakeholders committed to driving digital transformation in the agri-food sector. The training catalogue serves as a cornerstone for these efforts, providing a centralized, accessible repository of educational resources and demonstration activities. With a structured roadmap, AgrifoodTEF is on track to deliver 60 high-quality training programs by the end of the project. This approach ensures the continuous evolution of training content, reflecting industry trends and stakeholder feedback. By equipping EDIHs with the expertise to support SMEs and by promoting the adoption of proven innovations, AgrifoodTEF creates a resilient, collaborative ecosystem that accelerates Europe’s transition to sustainable and technology-driven food production systems. The initiative not only addresses current challenges but also lays the foundation for a future where digital solutions drive efficiency, productivity, and sustainability across the agri-food sector. In conclusion, AgrifoodTEF represents a transformative effort to strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity, positioning it as a global leader in advanced agricultural technologies.
