CFD Database for Phase-Change Thermal Energy Storage Version: 1.0 DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17602385 This dataset contains raw and processed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation outputs related to phase-change thermal energy storage systems of metallic-based phase change materials (PCMs). In this version, Aluminum and Ferro-silicon-boron are reported. It was generated as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie project SHINE, funded under Horizon Europe (Grant Number: 101145914). The dataset includes: • Full CFD simulation Metadata (GeneralData) • Material properties • Geometry and design parameters • Operating conditions • Unique row-normalized category tables • CFD raw melt-fraction evolutions (Time vs MeltFraction) • Fully post-processed outputs (melting time, solidification time, curvature metrics) • Mapping tables linking cases to their category rows All data were generated automatically from MATLAB and exported to a MySQL database. Methods CFD simulations were performed using ANSYS FluentTM solver using the enthalpy porosity approach. Data was cleaned and post-processed using MATLABTM.
D. Versioning This dataset is versioned. You may cite a specific version (e.g., v1) or the **DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17602385** that always points to the latest version. Updates will include: • Additional CFD cases • Updated geometries and materials • Improved post-processing metrics • New phenomena studied (e.g., cavitation) • Simulating data from the 1D model in MatlabTM • Experimental data E.
