o ganiza ions, and he challenges ha his can pose. The ODECO supe iso y boa d discussed he
possibili y o ha ing joined ac i i ies wi h he con e ence. An Open Da a ecosys em can ce ainly
be conside ed a kind o in o ma ion sys em ha can be in eg a ed wi h o ganiza ional in o ma ion
sys ems o c ea e alue o a company o a complex o ganiza ion. In such a sense he pa icipa ion
o ODECO membe s o he con e ence was conside ed a plus o he con e ence i sel and speci ic

ocused on he desc ip ion o Ma ie-Cu ie and collabo a i e p ojec s ac ions, p o iding o he
ESRs gene al indica ion on he a ious aspec s o a p oposal li e cycle, om i s concep ion and
elabo a ion, o i s submission.
Finally, o sa is y he las objec i e i was decided o o ganize a hacka hon ha had he objec i e
o challenge he ESRs, g ouped in g oups o 5, o de ine and elabo a e on p ojec p oposals ha ,
conside ing a ailable open da a se s a ailable, could ha e a conc e e impac on a speci ic
p oduc i e domain. The Hacka hon was p esen ed on Monday, in he i s session a e lunch, so
ha he g oups could wo k on i du ing he week, and hen he F iday a e noon was comple ely
de o ed o such an ac i i y.
To ollow he supe iso y boa d decision o os e ing he in e ac ion o ESRs and o BIR con e ence
a endees i was decided o include he i s con e ence day in he TW. Du ing he i s day many
ESRs ha go a pape accep ed o he con e ence had he oppo uni y o p esen hei esea ch
wo k o he BIR communi y. In addi ion, he BIR o ganizing commi ee decided o in i e Bas iaan
Van Loenen o deli e a keyno e speech a he con e ence. The speech, i led “Open Da a:
