The BREADCRUMB p ojec aims o o e a ho ough unde s anding o he pu pose and cha ac e is ics o ood
ma ke ing s anda ds (MS) h ough empi ical e idence. Ou ocus is on examining how hese s anda ds
gene a e ood was e (FW). We aim o p opose in e en ions ha e ec i ely balance he dual objec i es o
minimizing FW while also add essing o he goals associa ed wi h s anda ds. Addi ionally, BREADCRUMB is
dedica ed o assis ing ood chain ac o s in enhancing he business po en ial o subop imal oods, os e ing a
ha monious in eg a ion o sus ainabili y and economic conside a ions.
1.2 Aim o he epo
The p ima y objec i e o T2.2 is o es ablish a amewo k o he e ec i e managemen o each case s udy
(CS). This in ol es he ini ial o mula ion o a o mal plan o e e y CS, wi h con inuous e inemen o he
objec i es. The comp ehensi e plan will encompass de ailed desc ip ions o scheduled ac ions, epo ing
mechanisms, and pe iodic assessmen p ocedu es. These elemen s a e c ucial o moni o ing he p og ess o
each CS, allowing ou p ojec eam o p omp ly iden i y and add ess po en ial challenges and obs acles.
Mo eo e , T2.2 is dedica ed o conduc ing a ho ough analysis o he a ailable empi ical da a a he p ojec 's
commencemen and he new da a o be collec ed h ough CS ac i i ies. This analy ical app oach ensu es ha

A key aspec o his ask is os e ing collabo a ion and knowledge sha ing among he a ious Case S udies,
pa icula ly hose add essing simila ood commodi ies. By acili a ing he exchange o lessons lea ned and
challenges aced, T2.2 aims o c ea e a syne gis ic en i onmen whe e he collec i e expe iences con ibu e

As Case S udy Coo dina o s, we ha e es ablished e ec i e communica ion channels and moni o ing
mechanisms o ensu e he p og ess o he Case S udies. We ha e implemen ed a comp ehensi e plan o
in e ac wi h and moni o ou Case S udies (CSs) o acili a e hei p og ess and add ess any challenges hey
encoun e .
To achie e his, we hold egula mon hly mee ings, which ake place on he i s Monday o each mon h. The
mee ings a e spli in o wo g oups o ensu e ocus and p oduc i i y. G oup 1 consis s o CSs in he egg, ish,
and mea sec o s, while G oup 2 comp ises CSs in he ui , ege able, and ce eal sec o s. Each sec o mee ing
las s o 1.5 hou s, allowing o upda es, challenges, and ele an issues o be discussed wi hin he espec i e
sec o s.
To encou age in e ac ion be ween di e en CSs, we a e planning o in oduce b eakou oom sessions du ing
hese mee ings. These sessions enable he CSs o discuss p og ess, challenges, and ideas wi hin smalle
g oups, p omo ing collabo a ion and knowledge exchange. A e he b eakou sessions, he e will be a plena y
session o sha e expe iences and insigh s om all g oups, u he enhancing communica ion and lea ning. In
addi ion o he sec o mee ings, we hold qua e ly gene al mee ings in ol ing all CSs.
