INTRODUCTION

pes icide esidues, which can pose se ious heal h isks i concen a ions exceed
pe missible limi s. Pes icides a e widely used o p o ec c ops om pes s, diseases,
and weeds, bu hei inapp op ia e applica ion o insu icien egula ion can lead o
con amina ion o ui s, ege ables, and ul ima ely, he human ood chain. In
Uzbekis an, apid de elopmen o he ho icul u al and ege able sec o s, along
wi h inc easing demand o high-quali y and expo able p oduce, has highligh ed
he need o e ec i e moni o ing and ce i ica ion o pes icide esidues.

Globally, ad anced analy ical echniques such as gas ch oma og aphy (GC), high-
pe o mance liquid ch oma og aphy (HPLC), and mass spec ome y (MS) a e
applied o ensu e accu a e and sensi i e de e mina ion o pes icide le els. These
me hods allow no only he iden i ica ion o ac i e ing edien s bu also he
quan i ica ion o esidues a ace le els, o en below 0.01 mg/kg. Implemen ing
hese ad anced me hods in Uzbekis an is essen ial o align domes ic ood sa e y
s anda ds wi h in e na ional equi emen s, pa icula ly hose o he Codex
Alimen a ius and he Eu opean Union, which egula e maximum esidue limi s
(MRLs) o expo ed p oduc s[1-5].

Uzbekis an. These include he lack o s anda dized labo a o y p ocedu es, limi ed
access o mode n analy ical ins umen s, inconsis en en o cemen o egula ions,
and insu icien aining o pe sonnel in esidue analysis. Addi ionally, egional
di e ences in pes icide usage pa e ns and c op ypes complica e he es ablishmen
o uni o m ce i ica ion c i e ia. The e o e, imp o ing bo h he analy ical and
egula o y amewo ks is c ucial o ensu e eliable de ec ion o esidues and o
ce i y ha ui s and ege ables a e sa e o consume s.

labo a o y s anda diza ion, moni o ing p o ocols, and egula o y en o cemen ,
which may lead o inconsis encies in esidue de ec ion. Ad anced analy ical
me hods such as GC, HPLC, MS based echniques o e highe sensi i i y and
accu acy, enabling eliable iden i ica ion and quan i ica ion o pes icide esidues
e en a ace le els.
