ising sea le els, dese i ica ion, and ex eme wea he phenomena. Acco ding o he In e na ional O ganiza ion o
Mig a ion (2021), clima e-induced mig a ion could displace o e 200 million people by 2050. This unp eceden ed
demog aphic shi no only p esen s humani a ian and poli ical challenges bu also ca ies signi ican implica ions o he
global ma ke place. As popula ions eloca e, consume needs, alues, and beha io s e ol e — compelling co po a ions and
ma ke e s o adap hei s a egies o a apidly changing global audience.
This pape explo es how global ma ke ing esponds o he eme ging ends associa ed wi h clima e mig a ion. I examines
he in e sec ion be ween mig a ion pa e ns and ma ke adap a ion h ough he lens o co po a e esponsibili y, b and
communica ion, and sus ainable inno a ion. The s udy u ilizes a quali a i e me hodology g ounded in seconda y esea ch,
d awing om academic jou nals, co po a e sus ainabili y epo s, and policy publica ions o iden i y key ends,
oppo uni ies, and limi a ions in cu en ma ke ing p ac ices. The objec i e is o unde s and how global ma ke ing sys ems
no only espond o bu also an icipa e he complex socio-economic ans o ma ions caused by en i onmen al displacemen .
Findings sugges ha global ma ke ing has begun o e ol e in h ee majo di ec ions: i s , a g owing emphasis on e hical
and inclusi e ma ke ing, ensu ing ha displaced and ulne able communi ies a e ep esen ed espec ully in campaigns;
second, a shi owa d sus ainabili y-d i en b anding, as i ms align hei iden i ies wi h en i onmen al and social
consciousness; and hi d, he eme gence o localized ma ke ing s a egies ha espond o he unique cul u al and economic
eali ies o mig an popula ions. Mul ina ional co po a ions such as Unile e and IKEA, o example, ha e es uc u ed hei
campaigns a ound ci cula economy p inciples and clima e esilience messaging, posi ioning sus ainabili y as a cen al
b and alue.

de ined as he mo emen o indi iduals and communi ies compelled o eloca e due o sudden o p og essi e
en i onmen al changes such as loods, d ough s, cyclones, and sea-le el ise (In e na ional O ganiza ion o Mig a ion
[IOM], 2021). Unlike adi ional mig a ion, which is o en olun a y and economically mo i a ed, clima e mig a ion
is p ima ily o ced and a ec s ulne able popula ions disp opo iona ely.
The displacemen caused by clima e change has p o ound implica ions o global ma ke s. Mig an popula ions b ing
new consump ion pa e ns, cul u al p e e ences, and socio-economic needs, eshaping he consume landscape in bo h
o igin and des ina ion a eas (Seddiky, Rahman, & Ahmed, 2024). Simul aneously, global co po a ions ace inc easing
p essu e om consume s, s akeholde s, and egula o y bodies o adop sus ainable, socially esponsible p ac ices
(Ko le & Sa ka , 2018). This in e sec ion o mig a ion, ma ke ans o ma ion, and co po a e esponsibili y p esen s

espond o he dynamic challenges and oppo uni ies associa ed wi h displaced popula ions.

(collabo a ing wi h NGOs, go e nmen s, and local ac o s o ensu e c edibili y and each) (Ko le & Sa ka , 2018;
Gemenne & Bloche , 2017). Case analyses o mul ina ional i ms—such as Unile e and IKEA—show examples o
sus ainabili y-d i en p oduc design and ma ke ing ha a ge esou ce-cons ained consume s while main aining
en i onmen al c eden ials (Ko le & Sa ka , 2018; IKEA Sus ainabili y Repo FY21). These co po a e s a egies a e
p esen ed as bo h ma ke oppo uni ies and mo al esponsibili ies in a wo ld o inc eased displacemen .

sus ainabili y claims depend on pe cei ed c edibili y, speci ici y o claims, and demons able ac ion (Pham e al.,
2024). These indings sugges ha ma ke ing s a egies aimed a clima e mig a ion con ex s equi e high anspa ency
and au hen ic engagemen o a oid epu a ional damage.
Ano he s and o li e a u e ocuses on localiza ion and cul u al compe ency. Displaced popula ions a e no
homogenous; hey di e by o igin, socioeconomic s a us, cul u al p ac ices, and legal s a us. Ma ke ing models ha
adop a one-size- i s-all global empla e end o ail when aced wi h he he e ogeneous needs o mig an s and hos
communi ies (Gemenne & Bloche , 2017). Empi ical s udies in coun ies wi h high in e nal clima e mig a ion—such
as Bangladesh and India—documen how mig an s’ pu chasing pa e ns, housing needs, and se ice demands di e ge
om bo h hei o igin and hos popula ions, equi ing segmen ed and locally adap ed ma ke ing and dis ibu ion
s a egies (Wo ld Bank Bangladesh b ie s; Mig a ionPolicy analyses). Fo example, mig an s om clima e-a ec ed
u al a eas may p io i ize du able low-cos housing solu ions, po able echnologies, o emi ance- iendly inancial
p oduc s—c ea ing speci ic niches o social en e p ises and mains eam i ms alike.

Finally, an eme gen body o empi ical wo k examines he long- e m ans o ma i e po en ial o ma ke ing in os e ing
esilience. Ra he han me ely adap ing o mig a ion-d i en demand, ma ke ing can se e as a ehicle o beha io
change—p omo ing lowe -ca bon li es yles, ci cula consump ion models, and esilien li elihood p ac ices (Ko le
& Sa ka , 2018). Case s udies o ci cula -economy ini ia i es and a o dabili y-cen e ed p oduc design illus a e how
i ms can combine p o i abili y wi h adap a ion ou comes—i e o s a e genuine and measu ed. S ill, he li e a u e
