Students were randomly assigned to an AI-supported group and a tradional-instrucon control group. Preand post-tests measured growth in knowledge, comprehension, applicaon, analysis, synthesis, and evaluaon. The AI-supported group showed stronger improvement in several domains, aributed to personalized explanaons, automated feedback, and greater opportunies for pracce. AI tools also helped students engage asynchronously and collaboravely, supporng deeper exploraon of course concepts. However, the authors cauon that uncrical reliance may weaken higher-order thinking. Students may accept AI responses without quesoning logic, accuracy, or relevance. The study underscores the need for structured integraon in which AI supplements—not replaces—human reasoning and instructor guidance. Implicaons for Pracce 1. Design AI-based acvies that require explanaon and crique. 2. Emphasize verificaon and reasoning steps in assessments. 3. Use AI primarily for formave feedback, not summave evaluaon. 4. Train students to recognize the limits of AI-generated responses.
