Abstract
This repository contains the R code and data used for the data analysis and visualizations in the manuscript “Asian Continental Isoscapes of Tree-Ring δ¹⁸O: Implications for Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironment”. The analysis was performed using R (Version 4.5.0) in RStudio on a Windows 11 operating system. For any question, please contact with Ru Huang ([email protected]) or Chenxi Xu ([email protected]). Instructions for Reproducing Figures and Analyses This repository contains the R code and data used for the data analysis and visualizations in the manuscript “Asian Continental Isoscapes of Tree-Ring δ¹⁸O: Implications for Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironment”. The analysis was performed using R (Version 4.5.0) in RStudio on a Windows 11 operating system. Follow the steps below to reproduce the figures and analyses presented in the manuscript. 1.Repository Structure The archive provided includes the following folders: • Figure 1–5: Scripts and data for generating figures in the main manuscript. 2. Prerequisites Ensure the following R packages are installed before running the scripts: • maps • mapdata • maptools • RColorBrewer • colorRamps • Cairo • raster • rnaturalearthdata • sp Install these packages in R using: install.packages(c("maps", "mapdata", "maptools", "RColorBrewer", "colorRamps", "Cairo", "raster", "rnaturalearthdata", "sp")) 3.Steps to Reproduce Figures 1) Extract the Archive Extract the archive to a local directory on your system. 2) Open RStudio Launch RStudio IDE to run the R scripts.
3) Navigate to the Target Folder Locate the folder corresponding to the desired figure (e.g., Figure 1 or Figure S1). 4) Set the Working Directory In the script, update the setwd("") command to point to the folder’s path on your system. For example: setwd("C:/path/to/Figure1") 5) Run the Script Execute the script line by line. Ensure all required packages are loaded. 6) Verify Output The script will generate the figure in the specified format (e.g., Figure1.pdf) and save it to the working directory. 7) Optional Adjustments For enhanced visualization, minor adjustments (e.g., italicizing r and p values) may be made using graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. 8) Repeat for Other Figures Follow the same steps for additional figures in the main manuscript or supplementary materials. 4.Additional Notes • Code Updates The provided code reflects the analysis in the manuscript. Updates or improvements made during the peer-review process will be reflected in this repository. • Troubleshooting If you encounter issues, warnings, or errors, please contact: Ru Huang ([email protected]) or Chenxi Xu ([email protected]). • Feedback We welcome suggestions to improve the reproducibility and usability of this analysis. Your input is greatly appreciated.
