Annotation: This article analyzes current trends, innovative methods, and modern pedagogical approaches that arise in the teaching of foreign languages in the context of globalization. It also highlights the interaction between teacher and learner in foreign language acquisition, the impact of technologies, and the importance of new methodological tools. The provided examples are concluded with practical recommendations. Keywords: globalization, foreign language, education, innovation, methodology, technology, competence. In the 21st century, globalization processes have also influenced the education system. In particular, the effective use of new approaches and technological opportunities in teaching foreign languages has become a pressing issue. "Linguistics" (from Greek ''lingua'' – “language” and *logos* – “science”) is a complex and multifaceted discipline that studies language scientifically and practically in close connection with other social sciences. It examines the fundamental issues of linguistics, the origins of language, general laws of language development, and the characteristics of language and speech. Language serves society by ensuring communication among its members. It is a means that reflects the history of a community and plays a decisive role in a person’s spiritual and intellectual formation and development. Language and its practical expression—speech—are closely related to human thinking, psychology, culture, traditions, and personal growth. The field of linguistics has both general and specific aspects. It includes various branches such as general linguistics, specific (or particular) linguistics, theoretical linguistics, and applied linguistics, each interpreting language and speech from different perspectives. "General

The explanation of these features within a particular language (for example, Uzbek or other languages) is the subject of "specific linguistics". "Theoretical linguistics" discusses the theoretical foundations of the field, ideas regarding language and speech units, and the relationships between linguistic units. The branch of linguistics that meets the practical needs of society is called ''applied linguistics'' , and it expands the practical scope of language studies. The object of study in linguistics has a complex structure: language is a product of biological, physiological, and social processes. Studying language comprehensively is of both theoretical and practical importance. Therefore, linguistics should be regarded not only as a theoretical science but also as an applied field essential for human communication.The fact that language performs an important communicative function demonstrates that it is a complex system and that its realization in speech occurs according to specific laws. Throughout the development of human society, the relationship between language and society has been interpreted in various ways. Different opinions and diverse theories have emerged. It has been emphasized that linguistic units possess semantic value and meaning. Studying semantics is a highly complex process, and scientifically explaining how a word conveys meaning requires a thorough theoretical foundation. Like all other sciences, linguistics has its own field of research. The structure of language, its origin, its development, and other related issues form the scope of linguistic analysis, which is carried out by drawing upon the scientific conclusions of other disciplines. Several internal linguistic issues—such as the origin, evolution, and spread of languages—are also addressed with the help of other creative sciences. Moreover, many fields depend on linguistics. For instance, communication engineers must understand linguistic principles to transmit speech over long distances. Similarly, a scholar studying the history and culture of a particular nation inevitably turns to that nation’s language and written sources, since language is the primary source of information. Today, language learning is not merely memorizing grammatical rules, but also developing intercultural communication, communicative competence, and global thinking. As a result of globalization, information exchange around the world has accelerated, and social networks, international cooperation, and digital learning platforms have become widespread. This has turned foreign language learning not only into a desire but also into a necessity. The international market, diplomacy, science, and technology now require knowledge of languages. In modern teaching, the importance of the following technologies is increasing: Multimedia tools – enhancing lessons through videos, audio materials, and interactive platforms; Mobile applications – supporting independent learning through programs such as Duolingo, Quizlet, and Memrise; Virtual classrooms – organizing distance lessons via ZOOM and Google Meet; AI-based assistants – providing text translation and grammatical analysis. The following methods are considered relevant in today’s foreign language teaching: Competency-based approach – aimed at developing learners’ practical knowledge and skills; Communicative method – focused on expressing ideas freely and engaging in communication; CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) – teaching a language in integration with other subjects;
INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE “INTEGRATION OF MODERN LINGUISTICS WITH SCIENCE, EDUCATION, AND PRACTICE IN THE PROCESS OF GLOBALIZATION: NEW APPROACHES, OPPORTUNITIES, AND CHALLENGES”, DECEMBER 4, 2025 363 Task-based learning – instruction based on tasks that require active learner participation. In recent years, corpus linguistics has become one of the most rapidly developing fields of linguistics. The ability to analyze large volumes of textual data makes it possible to study language patterns more accurately. For example, corpora such as COCA (Corpus of Contemporary American English) allow researchers to explore the modern usage of the English language. Artificial Intelligence and Language Teaching AI-based language learning programs (such as Duolingo and Grammarly) provide learners with opportunities for personalized education. These technologies are effective in developing speaking skills, correcting grammatical errors, and enriching vocabulary. Innovative Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Technologies Language-learning environments created through virtual reality allow learners to engage in natural communication in a foreign language. For example, the “Immerse” platform enables learners to study English in a virtual office or restaurant setting. Gamified Learning (Gamification) Gamified approaches used on platforms like Duolingo and Memrise aim to increase learner motivation. Through these methods, the language-learning process becomes engaging and effective. Implementation of Modern Technologies In schools and higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, the use of virtual reality and AI-based programs should be expanded. Improving Teachers’ Qualifications It is necessary to organize modern training programs for teachers on foreign-language teaching methodology. Conclusion Modern linguistic theory allows us to study not only the structure and grammar of language but also its social, cultural, and communicative functions. Globalization processes strengthen crosslinguistic interactions, leading to the emergence of new words, expressions, and forms of communication. At the same time, the preservation and development of national languages remain a crucial issue. As a result, language development is closely connected not only with scientific analysis and research but also with the cultural and communicative needs of society. Modern linguistic approaches provide deeper insights into these processes and contribute to enriching language. REFERENCES 1. Crystal, D.Language and the Internet.Cambridge University Press, 2001. 2.
