Abstract

This session explores how intentional school–public library partnerships can bridge learning beyond the classroom using citizen science and health‑focused inquiry. Drawing on a flipped citizen science lesson model, participants will see how data analysis and inquiry begin in the classroom and are extended through public library spaces that support access, exploration, and community connection. Attendees will learn how to define complementary roles for school and public librarians, identify low‑cost partnership strategies, and align this work with AASL Shared Foundations. By the end of the session, participants will be able to describe a partnership framework, articulate learning benefits for students, and identify one actionable way to extend citizen science learning beyond the school day.
