Introduction In modern education, activating students’ knowledge and skills is of paramount importance. The use of interactive methods in teaching English language and literature not only enhances linguistic competence but also develops creative thinking, independent research, and communication skills. Unlike traditional teaching approaches, interactive methods transform students from passive listeners into active participants. Moreover, the widespread use of global communication and digital technologies further emphasizes the relevance of interactive approaches in contemporary education. This article analyzes the effectiveness of interactive methods in teaching English language and literature, exploring their pedagogical potential and practical applications. Relevance Interactive methods in teaching English language and literature are highly relevant today because traditional approaches often fail to engage students. In a globalized and digital world, learners need not only language skills but also creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication. Interactive teaching actively involves students, making learning more effective and preparing them for real-life challenges. Main part Interactive methods in teaching English language focus on actively involving students in the acquisition of language skills. These methods include group discussions, role-plays, games, project-based tasks, and peer teaching. Such strategies encourage communication, collaboration, and practical application of language structures. By participating in real-life simulations and dialogues, students enhance their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities simultaneously. Interactive techniques also improve vocabulary retention and grammar comprehension by embedding learning in meaningful contexts.
