Abstract
This is the slide deck of the rendez-vous de l'information scientifique organised by the University of Geneva Library and devoted to synchronising Archive ouverte and ORCID. It summarises the synchronisation options available to UNIGE authors for communicating between their ORCID profile and the Archive ouverte UNIGE (institutional repository for UNIGE authors' publications). This new functionality is be available since October 1, 2024. This synchronization, which is optional, ensures that any new content entering one of the two systems is automatically included in the other. Retrospective synchronisation of existing content is also available. It should be noted that as all content in the the Archive ouverte UNIGE must include a PDF, so it is sometimes necessary to add this manually to the draft uploads imported in Archive ouverte UNIGE from ORCID. ORCID & Archive ouverte
As of October 1, 2024, it is possible to synchronize publications reported in ORCID and thoses uploaded in Archive ouverte UNIGE, in both directions: 1. New uploads accepted in Archive ouverte are automatically added to ORCID 2. New publications added to ORCID create a new draft upload «in progress» in Archive ouverte It is also possible to send all pre-existing records from one system to the other. Archive ouverte ORCID 9 Archive ouverte is indicated as the source of the reference •The same record in Archive ouverte cannot be imported more than once •If the same work is imported in ORCID from multiple sources (Archive ouverte & another one), ORCID will offer a “merge” button to reduce duplicates
