As part of the MainstreamBIO project, a regional innovation platform has been created to support a broad range of stakeholders in the agriculture and bioeconomy sectors. The platform provides opportunities, guidance, and support for biomass producers, business representatives, and technology owners. Established in seven EU countries (PL, DK, SE, BG, ES, IE, and NL), the platform fosters collaboration among rural players to cocreate sustainable business models aligned with regional potential and policy goals. The platform offers three types of support: business services, technological services, and a digital toolkit. The platform supports partnerships aimed at overcoming barriers and bringing bio-innovations to market through practical innovation support, accelerating the commercialization of bio-based products and services. ΜainstreamΒΙΟ Toolkit Catalogue of small-scale bio-based technologies, business models and social innovations; BioForum enabling users to communicate, exchange knowledge and share novel ideas and solutions; Decision Support System for matching biomass/waste streams with sustainable bio-based technologies and models; Collection of best practices for improved nutrient recycling; Bioeconomy Repository,aggregating available educational material to raise awareness on bioeconomy educational resources; A Tool Library,access point to bioeconomy tools from partners or projects related to the bioeconomy. MainstreamBIO actively involves key stakeholders in designing the innovation support services offered by each MIP through co-creation workshops. This approach ensures a proactive market focus, addressing both visible and underlying needs. The MainstreamBIO digital toolkit has been developed to consolidate various resources and tools into a single, accessible platform to support bioeconomy development.
