Resea ch opics In a ecen ly published analysis o hemes om six lagship jou nals in he ield o adul educa ion and lea ning om 1950 o 2020, o a na owe analysis since 1982, Nylande and Fejes (2023; see also Nylande e al., 2022) iden i ied i een key a eas ha ep esen he mos equen oci o hema ic in e es o esea che s. [292] Bílá & Kalenda Fo hese easons, we a e ocusing on wo complemen a y esea ch ques ions:  RQ1: How has in e es in he empi ical in es iga ion o mo i a ion in adul educa ion and lea ning e ol ed o e ime?  RQ2: Wha speci ic opics ha e been explo ed in he a ea o mo i a ion in adul educa ion and lea ning? Howe e , his conclusion could be in luenced by he sampling o p e ious s udies ha mainly ocus on esea ch published in a small se o disciplina y jou nals, p ima ily om Anglophone coun ies, and ea u ing s udies published in English. Such a ocus isks in oducing sys ema ics epis emological biases, as he esea ch ends o concen a e on indi iduals in de eloped (pos -)indus ial democ acies, pa icula ly hose wi h highe le els o educa ion and socioeconomic s a us (Bou dieu & Wacquan , 1992).
