Focusing on he p og amme o he play’s 1954 p emie e, O’Go man no es ha i c edi s Simpson’s ole as di ec o , while elega ing Swi o he ole o “assis an p oduce .”9 Ba y Houlihan has likewise a emp ed o eco e Swi ’s d ama ic wo k, which has “su e ed le els o ob usca ion” amilia o many emale hea e wo ke s.10 As will be de ailed below, ypesc ip s o The Qua e Fellow p ese ed in Swi ’s pape s back up hese schola s’ con en ions ha he wo k dese es mo e ocus, and ha she did mos o he edi ing o Behan’s play.
