The main idea o he Unicom p ojec is he inno a ion o he language educa ion concep owa ds he quali y assu ance and op imiza ion o he condi ions o he de elopmen o s uden and academic s a in e na ionaliza ion. The c ea ion o a cou se based on he needs analysis ques ionnai e and suppo ed by an e-cou se ocusing on he p esen a ion skills seemed o be one o he possible answe s o his issue. 1 Needs Analysis Ques ionnai e The au ho s decided o use he cu en ly e e p esen need o imp o ing wo king li e skills o academic s a and Doc o al and Mas e Deg ee p og amme s uden s o he Uni e si y o Pa dubice o he c ea ion o he cou se “P esen ing in English”. The pilo module was open o academic and adminis a i e s a o he Uni e si y o Pa dubice. They we e o e ed a wo- day cou se, wi h wel e nine y-minu e long sec ions each day ocusing on di e en s ages o p esen a ions. The cou se was designed by h ee co-au ho s om he Language Cen e o he Uni e si y o Pa dubice. I was p eceded by a need analysis ques ionnai e and i e lec ed he eques s he ecipien s had isen in i . The esponden s could choose om ou possible answe s and hey could also add hei commen s. The au ho s used he answe s no only o se ing he con en o he cou se, bu also o designing he e-cou se ha was c ea ed o he cou se pa icipan s. 2 E-ins umen s “P esen ing in English” “A i ual lea ning en i onmen is a web-based communica ions pla o m ha allows s uden s, wi hou limi a ion o ime and place, o access di e en lea ning ools, such as p og am in o ma ion, cou se con en , eache assis ance, discussion boa ds, documen sha ing sys ems, and lea ning esou ce.” [1]. The apid de elopmen o in o ma ion echnologies allows e-ins umen s o be used mo e ex ensi ely as a ool in language educa ion. The au ho s decided o design a suppo i e e-cou se o he cou se pa icipan s which hey could e e o a any ime needed. The LMS Moodle pla o m (Fig. 2) p o ed o be he igh op ion. The e- cou se was di ided in o ou pa s esembling he s uc u e o a p esen a ion: opening, he main body and closing; and he pos e session. While c ea ing he e-cou se, he au ho s u ilized di e en op ions he LMS p o ides. The ex pages we e used o o e some ac ual in o ma ion. The quizzes we e designed o o e deepe aining o language ph ases ypical o p esen a ions and o imp o ing he lis ening skills. The Ho Po a oes exe cises added an e en mo e in e es ing way o p ac icing he language aspec o p esen a ion skills. Each session ocused on ce ain pa s o he p esen a ion co e ing no only he s uc u e (opening, main body, closing), bu also dealing wi h di e en di icul aspec s o deli e ing an excellen p esen a ion, such as body language, impac echniques, isual aids, building appo , dealing wi h ques ions and oice powe , o name jus some o hem. Each pa was also led by one o he h ee eache s and suppo ed by he wo o he s. Team eaching p o ed o be one o he e y s ong quali ies he au ho s we e able o p o ide he cou se pa icipan s wi h.
